Clemson's Pro Day News and Notes with live stream

Defensive back Mackensie Alexander had an impressive vertical jump of 37.5 inches (in a hoodie), ran an unofficial 4.40 40-yard dash time, ten-foot broad jump, and 3-cone time of 7.17.

He has also been seen chatting it up with Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin. According to NFL Draft insider Tony Pauline, Alexander had a one-on-one meeting with the New York Jets and the Pittsburgh Steelers last night. He also reports that Alexander had a Wednesday night dinner with head coach Sean Payton and assistant general manager Jeff Ireland of the New Orleans Saints.

Defensive end Kevin Dodd did 22 reps of 225 pounds at the bench press, 30.5-inch vertical jump, broad jump of 9'2", 5-10-5 drill time of 4.44 and a 3-cone drill of 7.32. He said that he has a visit planned with the Carolina Panthers next Wednesday.

Defensive end Shaq Lawson said that he has already met with 22 NFL teams today and will fly out this week to do a ESPN Sports Science episode.

Rex Ryan and brother Rob Ryan showed up in Clemson gear this morning. "I think it's the best program in the country," Rex said in a morning interview with ESPN.

I agree with Rex... would love to draft as many Tigers as possible this year.

That's why it's hard to choose between Apple, Alexander and Hargreaves. With the Eagles projected to maybe take Elliot all three might be there for us to choose from.

The deeper the roots, the higher the reach.

I like Aleaxander's style, but Apple has the most size... Hargreaves may be the most polished though.

Yes I have seen some mock drafts that have the Eagles taking Elliot with the 8th pick. Although the Bucs would probably take Hargreaves if he is available. Its possible they won't though so all 3 of them could be available. My preference is Hargreaves first Apple second and Alexander third.

If we sign Patrick Robinson or Nolan Carroll then I would draft Shaq Lawson. We need either a stud DB or DE with this pick.

Here is the funny part. If we win against Philly on Nolan Carrol then Philly has a higher chance of wanting a DB. Which wouldn't really matter cause therer is 9,10,11,12 to worry about. Still Apple is a good consolation price who won't be much of a drop off. I really like Apple ove Shaq but I'm sure that thought is against the grain.
