  • Draft I think makes us a lot better

R1. DB Eli Apple - He might turn out to be better than Hargreaves and this is a crucial need.

R2. C Ryan Kelly - I am a little worried about Cody Whitehair's measurables for the NFL with his short arms and he managed the fewest bench reps at the Combine of all the o-linemen. I think Ryan Kelly could be an elite Pro Bowl Center so I would move Pouncey to OG. There is no reason why Pouncey can't perform better than Dallas Thomas or Billy Turner as an OG. This move would also allow us to release him next year along with his bloated salary.

R3. LB Joshua Perry - With Misi and Alonso being injury prone we need LB depth. Perry is a 4-3 OLB but with his size 6'4 250 he might also be able to play MLB.

R4. DE Charles Tapper - He would basically be Shelby's replacement. We need to add a young DE to the rotation.

R5. QB Kevin Hogan - We need a developmental and backup QB.

R6. RB Keith Marshall - He was the fastest RB at the combine and at 5'11 220 has decent size.

Check out Vandal Alexander. You might change your second round pick. I think Whitehair will be gone by the time the Dolphins are on the clock in the 2nd round and Alexander might just end up being the better guard at the next level.

What happened to our 2 7th round picks?

Ramsey won't make it out of the Top 5 and Hargreaves won't make it out of the Top 10. At #13, Alexander, Apple, Fuller, Jones, or Sanchez should all be there at CB.

If we don't get Vadal or Whitehair, Landon Turner would be a nice pick up. His uncle was a Dolphin back in the 70s...

I agree its likely that Whitehair will be gone by the time we select in the 2nd round. I am worried about Alexander's pass protection. How do you feel about Joshua Garnett in the 3rd round?

I like Apple better than Alexander. #13 would be a good spot for him. We could take a DE instead like Lawson or Dodd then take a DB in the 2nd round and an OG like Garnett in the 3rd round.

Apple has better size for sure. If Maxwell is an example of what we're looking for, then Apple or Fuller are candidates.

Armando stated that we're looking to address the OL via draft and the guys we have, so we'll see there as well.

At DE, we have Williams, Wake, Fede, Laing, and Moore - who's more of an OLB based on his size. This is Fede's chance to shine even if we do draft a kid there early.

I am on the Apple bandwagon in the first round.

We will definitely have to draft an OG in the first 3 rounds. Joshua Garnett in the 3rd round is a good possibility.

I think we need to add another DE especially since Williams and Wake are older. I think we could wait until the 4th round and draft someone like Charles Tapper who would be Shelby's replacement.

I am predicting that they draft DE, OG, CB in order in the first three rounds. I'm hoping they trade back and pick up another 2nd round pick so the quality of player goes up as well as the odds of that player being a day one starter.

I studied Eli Apple Center Kelly and I really like your strategy about moving Pouncey to Guard! If Pouncey can play ata high level than we may just want to keep him.

Looking at what we've done in FA in regards to the OL... we signed OT Sam Young, OT Bushrod (Gase guy), and OG Jacques McClendon to bolster the guys we already have. I expect some of the OL guys, including Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner, to be cut this summer. We have no depth at OG or OC.

The team knows it can't depend on Albert, James, or Pouncey (our 1st rounders) to stay healthy and they know that we have no Center depth as Douglas isn't good enough and lacks the experience to make the protection calls for the line.

I don't like it, but IMO we have to draft a guy in the 1st round. Going back over the the 1st 12 picks, I think both Tunsil and Stanley are likely gone with the Ravens taking Stanley to replace OK, who they lost in FA.

That leaves Michigan State Jack Conklin as the best OLman on the board. Conklin is a physical OT who plays with power AND who played some OG last season. He's intelligent, can handle tackles, and is steady. He can come in and compete at either OT or OG. If Albert goes down, either Bushrod or Conklin could step into the LT position.

Additionally, I think that we'll look at maybe another true OG 3 thru 5. Guys like Josh Garnett, Westerman, Glasgow, and Jack Allen would be ideal in those rounds.

              Updated Mock:

              1:13 - OT/OG, Jack Conklin
              2: 42 - FS, Darian Thompson
              3:73 - OG, Joshua Garnett
              4 - DE, Bronson Kaufusi
              5 - ILB, Blake Martinez
              6 - RB, Keith Marshall
              7:A - QB, Jacoby Brissett
              7:B - DE, Anthony Zettel

Here i am blubbering like a baby cause we are talking again about OL in round 1, a Guard with the 13th pick of the NFL draft.....o woe is me. Will we EVER , in my lifetime, be set on the line?
Why cant we pick up a free agent CB and LB without having to move down from 8 and pick up another teams overpaid, unwanted, injured players? Why couldnt we pick up the premiere, top 3 guards in free agency like 3 other clubs that were less desperate than us? Sufferin succatash!

Yes... not at all happy about it, but we haven't pursued Mathis or Vasquez, and missed out on Boone and Allen. We can't develop our own Guards... We've never drafted a Guard higher than the 2nd round. Albert cannot be depended on for an entire season and is now the wrong side of 30.

Sucks a bag of d***s, but fk it, we can't function as a viable offense without better OL play. Conklin and Garnett should solidify us for the next few seasons while we dump Albert and Thomas and find better guys in the future without having to waste high picks on them in the draft.

I think the move to drop from #8 to #13 was based on the fact that there is no one we wanted badly enough to stay at #8 for and it gave us the ability to pick up 2 potential starters at CB and LB, while saving $3M off the cap with the drop to #13 and cutting Grimes - plus getting rid of a terrible distraction to the team and the community in Miko Grimes.

I actually like the moves. Maxwell is 4 years younger, 4" taller, 20Lbs heavier, and knows how to play the type of zone coverage Joseph is putting in and should match up better to bigger receivers who pwnd Grimey. Kiko can play either Mike or Will and if healthy, is a tackling machine that should thrive behind Suh and our DL. We also got both these guys combined for Brent Grimes Cap Number.

Waiting to see how we look going into camp. Right now, we're all upset over what looks like a neglected OL, but if we're much improved this season, it'll be worth it. Hoping for the best with Gase and Joseph...

Technically, Albert needed someone to carry his pads and drive his custom golf cart to and from practices to protect him from needless injury... Jacques fit the bill and strangely - was available. Go figure... ;-)

What about DB? All we have is Byron Maxwell, Jamar Taylor, Bobby McCain and Tony Lippett. We need another starting caliber DB. Thats why I like Eli Apple in the first round or Patrick Robinson in free agency.

We'll see... we invested several picks last year and since we're changing the scheme, I think they'll want to see what Taylor looks like under Joseph. I'm certainly not opposed to drafting one though.
