  • Am I the only one having this reaction

I start to freak out about losing Vernon, Miller and Grimes. But then I remember we only won 6 games last year and one of the bottom defenses in the league...then I get to the point where I ask "Didn't we NEED to shake everything up?". I don't know I think I am going to wait and see how this all plays out before I freak out. Maybe when the dust all settles we will be better off.

Exactly! Value for our money. I think it's good so far.

Man.......We SUCK! We are the offseason champs again hoping someone else's trash will be our treasure. This is getting so hard I had my buddy call me looking for the light in all of this and I couldn't even fake it, This team will have to win to change my feelings.

I like the moves. Will reserve judgement until they play, but we are addressing needs.

Considering our pass defense was the worst in 4 decades, blowing the defense up makes sense and I like the approach the FO is taking with the ''Take it or else contracts''...

          Consider:
          - Misi took less to stay
          - OV tagged (probably be rescinded)
          - Grimes probably cut
          - Maxwell in trade
          - Alonso in trade
          - Mario Williams signed for $8M per
          - Kelvin Sheppard reportedly to be cut
          - Wake reportedly open to taking less now

We've gotten younger and better on the DL, picked up another premier pass rusher, a stud LB if healthy, and bigger zone corner to play the East Receivers...

On paper, we're MUCH improved already.

Wow first I heard of Wake coming down on his demands. Good sign.

The difference this time around is everyone of these guys has proven themselves in this league. Everyone has shown the ability ti be playmakers, difference makers. The key is getting them to buy in, work together, believe in each other and stay healthy. The talent is there. I like it so far. Never loved OV. Good run defender. Nice at mopping up on sure passing downs. Thought he was worth $8 million per year and got someone better for the same price. Loved Kiko coming out of college, going to love him more now that he's a Dolphin.

This I agree with... really wish we were doing Hard Knocks this season. Would love to see what is going on with this team behind the scenes.

It seems to me that each of these players, with the exception of Miller also has question marks. OV was good, but man he made some stupid plays as well and cost this team at time. So is he worth the $12M + he will probably get? Not sure he is. Grimes was horrible at time last year. He is 32 and wants top CB money. I am OK with that one too. And all I can figure on Miller is that the league doesn't place a premium at RB and they thought they could get just as much production from a cheaper guy. I think the big thing for me is they are replacing them with equally questionable and equally expensive guys. All three pick ups (Williams, Alonso, Maxwell) have had huge production until last year. Wrong systems? Injuries? Remains to be seen.

OV is OVer-rated. Miller had durability concerns. Grimes isn't worth the baggage or contract.

Feel best about Williams and Alonso... and possibly getting comp picks for OV and Grimes. Meh on Maxwell right now.

Well last year I was elated. Thought we KILLED free agency with Suh and Cameron, Stills etc. and how did that turn out? So who knows...I do wish we hadn't dropped 5 spots in the draft.

Wheels came off when Delmas went down and Taylor regressed badly. Same with Albert, James, and Pouncey injuries and Douglas and Turner's struggles.

Better secondary and LBs along with healthy OL and OL play and season would have been ended with 9 wins.

Dropping 5 spots saved us $1.6M on rookie contract pool and got us 2 potential starters in areas of concern. We should also get 2 Comp picks for OV and Grimes. Regardless of whether #8 or #13, it comes down to who the pick is spent on, not where they were picked. We're still in the Top 15. Hoping for Mackie Alexander.
