It's the new league year, and we are falling even farther down. Miller is out the door, apparently. He's a draftee of Ireland who has actually done well for us lately. I guess they are letting one of my two favorite players go: Grimes. He didn't have a great season, but he was dealing with a stomach virus for a while, and has also either matched or exceeded his INT count each year he has been here. Who's going to replace him opposite the new guy: Jam at Taylor? Let's all go to Church right now and pray he actually can play like an NFL player. I guess they are also letting my other favorite player go: Wake. How can you get rid of the leader of this team? Dion Jordan going to put his crack pipe(probably does it now) and stay clean for once? We just had to give Mr. Drink and Dunk $96 million to drag us further down. We will never go anywhere unless he learns to throw to anyone besides Landry. To top it all off; Vernon will leave and we won't get Williams. I live in Cleveland, but gave up the pathetic team that plays here at the age of nine, in favor of the Phins. I'm starting to wonder if I made the right choice. Campbell should have been our guy. He of course isn't because he wasn't going to take any shyt from Ross or Mr. Smiles. I'm sick of them destroying our once-proud team. Even Wayne was a better owner.

You can be upset about the Dolphins letting players go, that's your right. However, with all due respect, you lost my interest in this thread when you mentioned that you wanted Campbell to be the head coach. What on earth did Campbell do to deserve the job? He looked completely lost out there as a head coach. If he was so good why are other teams not hiring him? The odds of Campbell ever being a head coach in the NFL are extremely slim. He was a great motivator but not a good head coach. If we needed a Pom Pom carrier we would have kept Sparano on staff. "Yay, we got a field goal guys!"
Also, on an ironic note, Dan Campbell might be the reason your favorite player, Lamar Miller, is not interested in playing for the Dolphins and demanding so much money from them. Campbell and his staff refused to give Miller the ball towards the end of last season, even though the Dolphins were undefeated when Miller carried the ball X amount of times, just so they could prevent him from gaining 1,000 yards. They figured by keeping him from gaining 1,000 yards it might help them in contract negotiations the following year. That was Campbell's ACME Plan to keep Miller that blew up in his face. Camobell and Co were all fired and now Miller is not wanting to sign with the team that screwed him. What s shocker.
Grimes is a good corner but his game is regressing and his wife is a complete locker room distraction. They can get a better, younger CB in the draft.
Mario Williams might be signed by the Dolphins today.
We have no idea which players are staying or going so I wouldn't jump off any buildings just yet.Last edited by DolphinsFreak; 03-08-2016, 03:57 PM."If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking." - George S. Patton

Grimes was actually a terrible player last year, always getting his ankles broke. For him to even expect to make the kind of money left on his contract, never happening. Then you add the terrible distraction his Ho wife was causing, no thanks, wonder how long BillyCheat would have kept Grimes around for???? NFL- Not For Long, oh yea, he wins this division year after year....
Wake has never been a team leader, he does one thing, rush the passer, Miami can't afford to pay a one dimensional guy the type of money due him this year. Wake has never been able to stop the run, because ALL Wake can do is just push up the field....I can't tell you how many times I see the RB running right where Wake should have been.....
As far as Dion, he's not the idiot that took a solid LB that could cover TE's and tell him to bulk up and play DE.....that was coaching, and another reason this team is last in the division....
RT doesn't play OL, this team has the worse OL in the League, bar none. You will never know what RT has to offer as long as he is getting hammered as soon as he receives the ball.....
Campbell??? What did he do to deserve being HC, who picked him up and made him a HC, nobody, nor did he deserve to be HC, he was clueless as a head coach, he needs time under a real HC and he needs to learn much more than he knows right now....

Nice rant... not sure you're being totally coherent here or have all the facts... lol...
- Miller has an offer on the table. He's a nice back, but not elite. We'd like to keep him, but not at over $6M a season.
- Grimes age and health (and wive's mouth) finally caught up with him. His play dropped him to the middle of the pack CB, who plays in the toughest division in the NFL as a midget DB. He was asked to take a pay cut from almost $9M a season to around $6. He refused. That's on him. He made over $16 MILLION the past 2 seasons with us. Instead we took that $9M and got a starting CB, who is bigger and younger AND a MLB in Alonso.
- New DC is changing from man to zone. Jamar Taylor may excel in zone where he doesn't have to turn his back to the QBs. Dunno know yet, but we also have 3 other young DBs and may draft another.
- Wake is also fighting age and health issues the past 2 seasons and only played in 7 games last year. He's also made $15M the past 2 seasons and has a $10.5M cap number. He's refused to take a pay-cut as well.
- Dion Jordan is reportedly working out with the same pro-coach as many of the other NFL players in Miami. He's eligible for re-instatement next month if he passes the same tests that Reshad Jones did a season ago.
- Tannehill's contract extension was $77M, not $96M, and only $21M is guaranteed. His contract is also team friendly. The team can dump him before the 2017 season and only pay $3.5M.
- OV was made an offer and refused it. We T-Tagged him and unless someone wants to pay him more than $12M a season, he's still here.
- Mario WIlliams? He a mercenary, who like Wake is a one trick pony. Sacks, not tackles... Granted I'll take it.
- Dan Campbell had his shot. He talked the talk, but couldn't walk the walk. I liked him to start with, but he wasn't ready at this stage... granted he was handed the keys after the car was driven over the cliff...
Have a drink and chill, then wait and see what we look like in camp this season. New FO, new coaches, new team... hope for the best.
YMMV.

Dion Jordan is an OLB. He's not a guy who can carry an extra 30-40 lbs and play with his hand in the dirt. Coyles already had that player in OV, and there was no reason to try to make DJ the same damn player. DJ did make plays in his limited snaps, both on defense and Special Teams.
Hoping Joseph and Burkes can get him back into the fold, but not expecting it.
-
Yes I agree, and could be why the PED's came into play....
I hope we send him back OLB, he would immediately help a position that is as bad as our OL is to the O.....
What do you do when a coach says, this is your new position, gain weight, this is it, fail and you lose millions......
-
Yeah, it may help having Alonso on the team as they were roommates at Oregon... Hoping for the best.

While I feel some of your frustration, the fact that you're bummed that we are clearing out players who have yet to lead us to a playoff game is somewhat confusing. While they may have been your favorites, they haven't done shit to bring this team to the next level of play that we are all demanding as fans. You're entitled to your opinion, but I disagree. I say purge as much stink of this roster as you can. I'm ready for new faces and hopefully new results.

Ok, I've calmed down now. Glad to see I was proven wrong with Williams. As long as he doesn't take plays off, and goes after QBs like he did Tannehill, he should work out. Heard Wake was still in the plans, so that's good. When I thought about it, we should let Vernon walk. He will cost us to much, and he isn't as productive as Wake has been. Hopefully Williams pans out too. I do hope Grimes stays, because I think he has an upside to him. Tannehill wasn't great.....again, but he's sticking around. Miller cNn go I suppose. I don't know who we would get to fill his spot. I heard Foster from Houston is a possibility. As far as Campbell, I wanted him because I think he's got real attitude. He's the complete opposite Philbin. This new guy might just be another Philbbin, since he's an OC that didn't actually call plays. Time will tell, but I'm at least going to have an open mind.
We need help on the OL desperately, but to this point we have done nothing. I haven't even heard potential plans.
Finally, the site of Ross makes my skin crawl. He has done nothing for this team. He got his big names, but they never pan out. Whether that be coaching, or whatever. "Mr. Smiles" will prove to be as bad, or worse than Ireland. Use the Jets as an example, but they just suck anyway. I'm just a bit tired of how things are done here
