  • Nick Foles To Dolphins ??

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport named the Cowboys, Dolphins and Redskins as teams that could be interested in Nick Foles.

Foles lost his starting job to Case Keenum last year and has been floated in trade rumors all offseason. Foles would have to settle for backup job if he's traded to any of the teams listed by Rapoport.

The Eagles were rumored to be interested in bringing Foles back to Philly, but that went out the window as soon as they re-signed Sam Bradford. Foles seems extremely unlikely to be traded given his guaranteed $6 million roster bonus due next week.

Yeah $6M is too much to pay for a backup QB not to mention the draft pick we would have to give up although that would be a late round pick. If he is released and we can just sign him at say around $3M then I might consider it because he could challenge and push Tannehill more than any QB we would draft in the later rounds.

If these teams are interested in Foles I highly doubt anything would happen until next week when that guaranteed money is no longer an issue. I am just happy to read that this regime isn't going to sit on their hands and just be content with a washed up backup sitting behind Tannehill who can't push him. I am not sure Foles can push him for the starting job but he poses more of a threat then Moore did. Even if they do sign Foles or someone like him, I hope they still intend to draft another QB.

Wow. The talk of real competition for the anointed one. Are we allowed to do that in Miami? I'd only sign Foles if we miss out on Adams in the draft.

Upon further thought, I'd be all for trading a mid round pick for Foles if it meant trading Tannehill for a 1st rounder. Oh, please God let it be so.

Brandon Allen in the 5th-6th round in my prediction.

              Paxton Lynch - 3776 Yards Passing - 28 TD's - 4 INT's --------- 1st Round Grade

              Brandon Allen - 3440 Yards Passing - 30 TD's - 8 INT's -------- 7th Round Grade

Brandon Allen in the 5th-6th round in my prediction.

Ok DF, i feel ya.....i happen to just like Jones as a change of pace option, seen him play and just think he is a s leader... i am fully on board with a mid round QB, as i know you are but i also know you dont want to hurt RT's feelings.

AHAHA!! You know me too well !

I am all for the Dolphins drafting a mid-round quarterback this year. I have a man-crush on a few QB's and my late round player is Brandon Allen. I know Cook's stock has fallen recently but I am still on board with the Dolphins drafting him in the 2nd round if he is still there. I would prefer them doing that if they trade back and pick up an additional pick. Do you think Jones will still be available in the 5th round ?

If the Texans address the QB position in the early rounds which they should I still think that Hackenberg could drop into the 5th round where we could take him and get a QB who would have been a top 10 selection had he come out last year. Hopefully the Texans take Cook in the 2nd round.

Dont know. Good question as QBs are usually always overdrafted. I think that Cardale was a slight disappointment at the combine only because he had a reputation as a real athlete still moved well for a 253lb guy 4.8 40 and led all in the vertjump but pased on thr rest. Didnt see him throw but in games it sure looks like he can make all the throws. I hope he is there for the 5th because we have sooooo many holes to fill we need LBs, CBs and OLin the first 4. If he is not there than i am fine with your man Allen cause i know you bleed aqua and orange and wouldnt lie to me

I'm bored so I am going to go to YouTube and post both of our quarterbacks highlight reels. Hopefully by doing this the Dolphins will draft one of them.

The Fins are way ahead of you...their scouting department has been vigilantly studying YouTube videos for the last several weeks; rock, paper, scissors is next to be followed by a coin-flip to decide!

You're a funny man, DP. If my post was meant for our front office then they really need help. However, since the days of the Miami Herald forum, it does appear that the FANS who post on these forums know WAY more then ALL of the people in ALL of the front offices that the Miami Dolphins have had. Yeah, they get paid big bucks and they have experience in their field, but they are wrong most of the time and the FANS are wrong too, but the FANS are correct more often then they are. I would actually prefer it if they used Rock, Paper, Sissors if it will help them make better choices. :-) I wonder how that Mario Williams deal went down. Nevermind, it's the Dolphins.........they probably lowballed him and he left town without a contract. Wait, they will say they were just using him to get better deals from their aging, injured veteran and their average DE who will be getting WAY overpaid this offseason. Yeah, that's the ticket. AHA

Thanks for posting that. I like your guy Allen. Either the tape is slightly off in speed or the dude plays very fast, has a very quick release and really good arm. He really snaps out those screen passes and short outs. As for Jones, i just like the guy and think he has big upside and raw skill. And in that video he dove for more first downs and ran over more people than the Ginn family over the course of an entire NFL career.

Jones could be the Dolphins Cam Newton, minus the baby attitude. I really like Allen! He has quick feet, escapability, senses pressure well, can make the deep throws and has a pretty strong and accurate arm. I would take him in the 5th or 6th round.

I like the idea of bringing in Foles (or even Drew Stanton) - as long as the price is for a backup QB. I like the fact they are young, can push Tannehill, have starting experience and talent that may grow (especially with someone like Gase).
