  • Lamar Miller looking for over $5 mill - SIGNS WITH TEXANS

The Fins are interested in bringing LM back but it's being reported that he wants more than $5 mill per. & apparently the Fins don't want to pay it, reportedly offering around 5 mill or a little less. Only 5 RB's in the league have contracts that average more than $5 mill; A.P., Jamaal Charles, LeSean McCoy, DeMarco Murray & Jonathan Stewart. Do you believe that Miller should be paid as one of the top 6 RB's in the NFL?? I like him & wouldn't mind having him back, but to me it sounds like the Fins offer is more than fair!

With running back Lamar Miller slated to become a free agent on Wednesday, the Dolphins are trying to keep him.The Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins are continuing to work on re-signing Miller, but he wants more than $5 million a season and the team would prefer he settle for $5 million or slightly less.Only [more]

I don't think he's worth the 5 mill to be honest, but I believe that there are like 9 or 10 RB's making over $8 mil a year. Miller just isn't at their level...

Adrian Peterson is averaging about 14 million per year. Lynch was averaging around 12 million. Foster 8,7 million. Forte 7.6. Charles 6.9 million. (average) Frank Gore, Spiller and Ingram were averaging about 4 million. In my opinion, if these numbers are correct, Lamar Miller is asking the correct and fair price for his services. I would still lookk at what Ivory is asking but Miller will be 3 years YOUNGER than Ivory at the start of the season and has been more consistant then Ivory, behind one of the worst o-lines in the league. Lamar Miller is still upset about the Dolphins coaches screwing him out of getting 1,000 yards and it was obvious to most that they were doing it on purpose. The Dolphins might learn one day that they need to pay their players if they want to keep them. They paid Tannehill and Miller has proven he is a better RB then Tannehill is as a QB.

I thought that # of backs making more than 5 mill. was low, but i was just going by what it said in the article...I think Miller's a solid back who could do a lot better if he were used a bit better, but i do think i agree with the Fins on his worth being closer to the 5 mill range rather than over it. One thing i will say is that i'm not a believer that good backs are a dime a dozen because if that were true how come we have such a hard time finding one??

Because we have a hard time finding any good talent on a consistent basis.

I'm at 5 or under for Miller. If he gets more from someone else then so be it. It's not like the Dolphins did him any favors by not running the ball. Same with OV who should've been paid when he outperformed his backups for years and made a lot less than them. Same with Matthews when given the chance he made the most of it most of the time but coaches kept him in the doghouse. The coaches are different but the FO is somewhat the same just in house new GM. The FO could've got this out of the way last year but to late now.

Miller is good, but not $5M + good.

I expect them to make a take it or leave it offer. Ajayi hurts his chances here at big money?

I don't think he is worth that much. I was thinking something like a 4 year $16M deal was fair. I would rather spend most of our money on o-line and defense.

It is Miller time in Miami. Shame on the Dolphins if they don't pay Miller's price. Shame on them and f**k them. Did they hold him back from reaching certain plateaus to keep him healthy as the team around him improves or so they could lowball him this year? Hopefully it's the former being that they did it at the expense of wins. I am nothing short of amazed at how he's improved in every weakness he was tagged with. He's worth every penny and, unlike OV, earned this raise. He is our best offensive weapon and only the delusional would argue this fact. Gase is going to rely more and more on the run when he realizes Tannehill fires too many errant passes on 2nd down and is too irresponsible about getting past the sticks on 3rd downs. We NEED, NEED, Lamar Miller. Letting OV walk for nothing is a bummer. Letting Miller go is a DISASTER! Front Office, apologize to the man, promise him a real O line and show him the Quan. On a bad team, with bad blocking, he hasn't missed a game and he hasn't moaned, bitched and whined about anything. He is Miami born, Miami bred, Miami schooled and still Miami strong. Lamar Miller is Miami. You can question a lot of things about a lot of players on this team but one thing Lamar Miller can stand tall and shout without rebuke is, "I'm all heart motherf**cker!" And now more than ever what this team, this city and these fans need is a heart in this locker room that bleeds less green and more aqua and orange.

Here here. I think Lamar is a solid back and worth 5 @ year. With such a dearth of talent on this team...Lamar is not the problem

Oh, and btw, yes, I believe Lamar Miller has become a better RB than all the aforementioned names listed above. Why aren't all the fans swearing Tannehill's problems are the O line screaming in support of Lamar Miller? Probably, because the times the O line does get it right, Miller doesn't wallow around in inconsistency and mediocrity. Miller dominates.
Freak, what's up with flashing OJ up on the board when I'm talking about Miller? C'mon man! JK.

I completely agree with you on this point. When it comes to paying Miller many Dolphins fans think he is not worthy of getting paid but when it came to paying Tannehill they agreed that he was worthy of the money and ALL his shortcomings were blamed on the offensive line but NONE of Miller's shortcomings are blamed on anyone but Miller.

P.S. I think that picture if from the movie Radio. It was a failed attempt at humor. He played in the movie you referenced so I thought I would post that picture. Speaking of OJ, can you believe that moron cop kept that knife all these years?

I 5-year look at free agent deals for tailbacks hints that the market will not be kind to Lamar Miller. Only 6 backs got deals north of $20M

While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

Seeing what Omar tweeted and hearing that the Phins have offered him around 5 mil per year, I think the Phins offer is more than fair. JMHO. The average contract for RB's has been 4 mil per year.
