  • Rishard Matthews doesn't want to be lower than a #2 WR

    Gonna miss him!

In February, word out of Miami was that the Dolphins were talking to wide receiver Rishard Matthews about a contract that would keep him from hitting the market as an unrestricted free agent next week.

That sucks. It's too bad his ego is getting in the way. IF he is good enough to be a true #2 why doesn't he try and become one with the Dolphins? Would he rather go to a team with bad receivers just so he can brag about being the #2 guy or would he prefer to EARN the #2 spot on a team with a great receiving corps?

He's got skills and it's a weak WR FA year. He'll get paid well. Just hope he doesn't end up a pat or jet... Cowboys are high on him as a compliment to Dez.

He could certainly be a starter here. No reason we can't put Parker and Matthews on the outside and have Landry in the slot....

Exactly what I said in my other group.
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

Landry needs to remain the slot and have his targets limited anyway. Matthews did more per catch than Landry easily and should be our #2. Just not sure we'll be able to compete with his FA market if he hits FA.

The Dolphins should trade Stills and use the savings to sign Matthews. Stills will not count against the cap. They could use that additional pick to move around in the draft. Stills' "deep threat" ability is lost in this offense. Teams need to worry about Parker going deep with his speed and abilities.

I would like to keep Matthews but I think he is going to leave to the highest bidder. As long as we don't have to give him a crazy contract I would resign him. It looks like OV is going to leave so we have the money to pay him now. I think a starting trio of Parker Matthews and Landry in the slot would be tremendous. Then we could trade Stills with no cap penalty and bring back Hazel on the cheap as our #4 WR. Then the arena league return specialist we signed recently could be our #5 WR and we would be set.
