  • Trade down for Reggie Ragland?

I know a lot of people would like for the Dolphins to draft Reggie Ragland in the first round. I would only trade down if Hargreaves is off the board at #8 and its possible he might be. The Rams would be an ideal trade down partner since they have two 2nd round picks and Ragland should still be available at #15. Then how would this draft look?

    R1. LB Reggie Ragland

    R2. DE Carl Nassib

    R2. OG Cody Whitehair

    R3. DB Artie Burns

    R4. LB Deion Jones

    R5. OT Tyler Johnstone

    R6. QB Jacob Coker

    R7. DT Joel Heath

    R7. WR Jordan Payton

Not to rain on the parade but trading down seems harder than trading up. Go on any team board and everyone wants to trade down. Not to mention every board targets the same blue chip players. I hope we can trade down to pick up an extra 2nd. We need all the help we can get. Hopefully we pick reckognizeable names and not ones that scratch our heads. I admit Ravland will be a good compliment to the linebackers we have.

Yes I agree, trading down is easier said than done. There has to be somebody available that another team wants to trade up for. Teams don't like giving up such high draft picks. We need to get an immediate impact player in the first round though.

In my opinion the only way the Dolphins can trade down is if a QB is still on the board. I expect the Rams or Texans to be looking for trade partners in the top 10. I expect one of those two teams to trade up with the Ravens to draft a QB ahead of the 49ers.

Could Bosa fall to the Dolphins because of a run on quarterbacks?!?!? 😳😧

I'm thinking Dallas may very well take Wentz if he's still on the board; pretty sure JJ is getting tired of Romo's busted-up-ass standing on the sidelines with their season's on the line..especially after last season where many had them as a preseason Super Bowl favorite...

I did read that Dallas is high on Wentz. Wentz also has been the top dog with some high profile draft analyst so may very well be coveted by Browns. Wonder in that scenario if Dallas would take Goff or Lynch at 4? Makes for an interesting draft.

I wonder if any of these teams would be willing to give up their 1st Round pick for Tannehill? ajajajajajaja

As far as trading down goes, i'm never really a big fan..while it's seriously tempting with so many holes to fill, it seems that inevitably you always end up leaving a major-impact player on the board while getting two solid but lesser talents..

I like Reggie Ragland, but IMO he's only going to be a solid, serviceable NFL LB & not a gamechanger..whereas a guy like Jaylon Smith before his injury was a guy likely to make a HUGE impact at the next level..I do think that's a pretty solid draft though,, although i'm assuming that we'd get a starting DB or two in FA if we're waiting 'til the 3rd round to address the position...
