  • ESPN: 5 offseason moves each AFC East team should make

Buffalo shouldn't only lock up Tyrod Taylor -- there's another QB it should consider. Plus, the Jets should try to keep their defensive line intact. Bill Barnwell goes through the whole AFC East.

Just depressing. Honestly I see no way this team is less than three years away from being competitive. And that's only with no more bad misses in the draft and free agency.

Yup,, been saying that for quite some time..barring a huge miracle or two, this team is years away from even hoping to compete...

I would do just that cut Jennings and Grimes only because of money. I'd keep Cameron cause Tanehill needs a good tighend and Sims ain't that, but if we did cut him I would understand.
Just frolic and live in the now like Dolphins and Man's best friend.

Is the biggest problem the moves the Dolphins have to make OR is it the people who are making them?

Over the MANY YEARS the answer has always been the same, it is the people in the front office making these important decisions. THE FANS seem to know who to pick up in free agency and the draft more often then the people getting paid big bucks to do so. Yes, we on these Dolphins forums have a higher 'batting average' then ALL the front office people that have come and gone over the past 10-20 years. IF the front office would have listen to some of us on this forum last year, the Dolphins might have had the best offensive line in the league. Who knows how that might have changed things. Hopefully Grier, Gace, Tannenbaum and Co will do a great job but I am not counting on it. I am expecting more of the same, different faces but the same mistakes.

I still believe Ross & Tannenbaum are closet Jets fans, so most of the moves are probably made just to piss us fans off...

Ross did try and buy the JETS..................WAY before trying to buy the Dolphins............As I stated before......THERE IS NO DOLPHINS FAN THAT WOULD EVER DO THAT, PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing I disagree with in this article is franchising OV. I think $15 million is way too much to pay him even for one year. I would either try to restructure Wake's contract and draft a DE or try to sign OV to a long term deal ideally in the $8-9 million a year range and then release Wake and draft a DE.

I must have mistaken OV for someone else because I didn't see him do anything worthy of making that much money. I think they are fool to play him anything close to 10 million. I would draft a rookie and in a year from now he will be as good as he is.

Vernon played very well, and was one of the major reasons the patriots inexplicably lost the last game of the season to the Fins. Belicheat must have had money on that game.
Regardless, Vernon does taketh away with some truly stupid penalties, and I believe he's the type of guy that will pull a Haynesworth on the Dolphins. Hurts to say that about my Cane bro-tha.

Still, the man has proven he's a top 6-7 DE, maybe better, and has to be paid as such. I'd structure it to extend the years over paying $15 million in year one./ Lets see what Aponte can cook up. Tannenbaum needs to stay as far away from this and the Miller deal as he can.
