  • Ross is at it again

I wish he would just be quiet, never see a mi he does not like.
Dolphins owner Stephen Ross thinks he has found a coach to provide long-term stability, but he isn't going to give him long to prove it. According to Jeff Ostrowski of the Palm Beach Post, Ross told the Palm Beach Civic Association Monday that he thinks new coach Adam Gase has generational quali...

“After three years, if we haven’t made the playoffs, we’re looking for a new coach,” Ross said. “That’s just the way it is. The fans want it.” - Stephen Ross

I understand his thought process but this is something that you THINK and NOT say out loud when you are the owner of the team. Ross should sell the team, he just doesn't have any common sense.

I think every HC in the league knows he only has 2-3 years to show improvement when he's hired to begin with. There was no real reason for Ross to say that publicly before Gase has even coached a single game or worked with the FO to bring in new players to upgrade the roster.

Ross' comment had to be in reaction to the amount of criticism he's received for extending Philbin, then losing this past season to udder turmoil created by extending Philbin, then having to fire him at the start of the season.

yeah, does seem like a bit of a contradiction...I can just hear it now.."After ten years Ryan Tannehill has proven himself...to be nothing more than an average NFL Quarterback,, Nothing to see here folks, time to move along!!"

                AHAHAHAHA!! Now THAT was funny!!

Tannehill has gotten dozens of people fired (Players shipped out and coaches getting the axe) but Ross continues to try and find people to 'coach him up'. So, does this mean that in his 5TH YEAR, Tannehill also gets an additional THREE YEARS? Normal thinking football fans would laugh and say "Of course not" but we are Dolphins fans and we are talking about Ross here.

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is trying to jam the toothpaste back in the tube, and if it doesn’t go back in in three years, he’s going to switch brands.Yesterday, Ross revealed one of the reasons he’s running a franchise that has been a bit of a mess on the field, telling a crowd at the Palm [more]

It’s a lot easier to succeed in business than it is to create a winning football team,” Ross said during his initial remarks. “I’m going to get it right yet.” - Ross

Maybe he should make "business" his full-time job and sell the team to someone who knows how to let his FOOTBALL PEOPLE run his FOOTBALL BUSINESS!! Ross' problem is that he can't get out of his own way. Business isn't easy, period. It can become easy IF you know the business at hand, inside and out, like how I assume Ross does with Real Estate. Well, I doubt Ross would allow Parcells or Petterson to make any important decisions involving his Real Estate deals so why doesn't he learn that he should stay out of ALL business matters that involve FOOTBALL BUSINESS?!?

So how many years of Ross's failures do we as fan have to tolerate before he is forced to sell the team? That's what I want to know!

When Ross says that's what the fans want( 3 years coaching change ) Ross doesn't seem to include himself.

YEP! If this team that ROSS himself helped put together doesn't make the playoffs in 2-3 years he should sell the team. It starts from the top and since he insists on being involved on FOOTBALL decisions, he should step down and fire himself.........by selling the team.
