  • Top 10 Dolphins Salaries

James Walker has an opinion on what the Dolphins should do this offseason. He writes................

The Miami Dolphins enter the offseason with an inflated payroll for 2016. The team must slash salaries to get enough room under the salary cap to make improvements.
Miami’s front office, led by vice president Mike Tannenbaum, will begin making roster cuts and restructures over the next three weeks before the new league year begins in March.
Here is a look at the Dolphins' top 10 highest salaries for 2016 via ESPN’s Roster Management System:
The Dolphins will have to make changes among these top salaries to create enough necessary room to improve. Tannenbaum already said at the Senior Bowl that the team will explore restructuring Suh’s franchise record $114 million contract. That would likely come in the form of turning most of his $23.5 million salary into a bonus. Other players such as Coples ($7.751) and Cameron ($7.5 million) are unlikely to return.

I agree that the front office needs to restructure some contracts but I disagree with having to part ways with Jordan Cameron and Coples. I think that Cameron is a Pro Bowl caliber TE that was playing in the wrong offense last season. I do NOT blame his lack of production on him. He is definitely worthy of his contract if the OC and QB do their jobs. Coples was a first round draft pick that Tannenbaum knows well. He signed him to a 7.7 million dollar deal for a reason. If the Dolphins new DC can get the most out of him him it could be free agency steal.

If the Dolphins want to release any two players on this list who would you choose?

If I had to release two players it would be Grimes and Misi.

    GRIMES and his HO
    MISI

Also Wake, he can't play the run, one dimensional, deep pay cut is what he needs to explore or go....

Fat Albert, injury bug, pay cut or go

Coples, Cameron, Albert, Grimes, Wake and Misi ALL should have their pay cut.

If I'm releasing people outright, it's Wake and Misi... Grimes gets a stay for 1 more season as long as he's taking a paycut.

Yeah, I only live an hour and half away from there. Really not my favorite city in the South, but agree on the food. As for Payton, that ship has sailed. Hoping the new crew is all rowing together for a change...

He/They were not the crew I wanted but I have to just hope Ross got lucky and hired the right man for the job. Only time will tell. We will see in a couple weeks or so whether Grier is up for the task of being the GM. I am curious to see if he has a new perspective or not. Sometimes these guys had their ideas and opinions batted down by guys higher then them and nobody knew that the team missed out on certain players that other people wanted. (Hope that makes sense) Hopefully Grier will pick up some players in FA that we want and then on to the draft where the past regimes have not done so well. Hope is all we have at this point as Dolphins fans.
