  • Sports Illustrated - Two Round Mock

ROUND ONE - VERNON HARGREAVES - CB, Florida

Hargreaves or Mackensie Alexander would be fine selections by Miami, which must find some help in the secondary. The Florida product can thrive in any coverage set and has the quickness to close on the ball—he intercepted 10 passes and broke up 27 over three seasons.

ROUND TWO - CODY WHITEHAIR - G/T, Kansas State

Two solid picks. I am hoping that the Dolphins will address the issues of offensive line in free agency so they can fill up their holes with younger talent. I don't see too many players to chose from at most of the holes that the team has but they can definitely fill holes at Offensive Line, Cornerback and Safety in Free Agency and then focus on the other positions of need in the draft.

I like all 3 guys... I posted a Hargreaves vs Alexander thread in the Draft forum.

Would be solid. Two potentially good starters at positions of definite need.

I don't think Alexander is a top 10 talent. I think he could be a decent starter in the NFL, but not sure he could ever be elite. I think Ramsey, Hargreaves and Fuller are the top three elite type corners in this draft. With Fuller's injury you can't take a chance on him in the top 10.

Whitehair is a solid pick, but I think there will be better options in round two.

Love those two picks. Alexander not in same category as Hargreaves. Without great pass rush, Alexander is Sean Smith: torched by double moves. Agree Ramsey and Fuller are two and three. In a perfect world we could somehow pick up Hargreaves and Cravens, both absolute ball hawks. Grimes had a sketchy year but the Hargreaves-Grimes salaries average out for a CB tandem and we would be exponentially better at both spots. Tru Johnson across from Hargreaves wouldn't be bad either. I'd love to get Berry or Weddle at FS. Any hope of that or are they both too expensive? Jaylon Smith, oh Jaylon Smith, what ever happens to Jaylon Smith? How do you pass up that much talent if it's sitting there. But with the Dolphins history of acquiring players coming off of injury, how can we even consider him? And don't be mad-dogging me, groundhog!
