  • Player's Cut/Released/Terminated/Other Moves

Now that teams can begin to release players, i figured it might be a good idea to keep a running tally..It'll make it easy for us to see what might be out there as options for the Fins and a chance for us to talk about something other than mock drafts. Just add to the list as players are axed.

Here's what i have so far:

    WR Riley Cooper - Eagles

    LB Justin Durant - Falcons

    Safety William Moore - Falcons

    Guard Jahri Evans - Saints

    Safety Michael Griffin - Titans

    SS Nate Allen - Raiders

Jahri Evans is a 6-Time Pro Bowl Guard!

Evans would be a nice, cheap pick-up for depth purposes. If I were the GM I would bring him in for a look. I think he has a couple good years in the tank.

The Giants are set to release LT Will Beatty, LB Jon Beason and Guard Geoff Schwartz

EDIT: Jon Beason has chosen to retire rather than seek employment elsewhere.

I do see a linebacker and guard from someone's cut list instead of going for the top of the market. We keep our own FA.

Jahri Evans base salary was $3.8M, with an additional $4.4M in bonuses, putting him at $8.2M against their cap. Cutting him only saved them $3.1M, but left them with $5.1M in dead money. Weird...

PFF ranked him as the 27th best/worst OG last season. Not sure if they have already drafted his replacement or not... ALL of our OG's were ranked in the 70's and our Tackles

Evans is a 4 time All-pro and a 6 time probowler, but will be 33 this off-season. Not an ideal age, but he is available to sign at anytime right now. He may want to get paid more than he's worth, but I'd definitely look into him... The most I would pay him is a 2 year deal at $4M each year with the first year guaranteed.

He'd go a long way towards shoring up 1 OG spot and would give us more options at the other OG spot and swing tackle...

My thinking is that they are going to want to see what they have in Douglas and whether Turner can play the swing Tackle spot... we'll see...

Let's all just hope that Grier and the new coaching staff don't think that they are 'good' or 'okay' in any one area. They need to go after the best players they can find in ALL areas. They need to build up this offensive line and when a guy like Mathis is available, you sign him. Evans isn't close to being a Mathis-type but he would be a good addition. As I mentioned above in an earlier post, the worst case scenario is that he would provide depth at a very important position for the Dolphins that has been a huge weakness for many years.

Bears RB Matt Forte is being released..Wonder if Gase will use his Bears connection & look to sign him; they could be interested if they don't think they're keeping Lamar..

Forte would fit right into the offense that the Dolphins have been TRYING to go to. He is an awesome RB who has great hands. I would love that pickup and it would give me hope that this front office is turning things around. I remember when they hired Philbin we all hoped that he would have Green Bay connections and that obviously didn't turn out to be true.

I'd give him a look but only if Miller decides to go elsewhere. I'd prefer we resign Lamar.

I was thinking the same thing,, they might just give him a look.

Harvin went to High School about five minutes down the road from me here in Virginia Beach & he ALWAYS seemed destined for superstardom; unfortunately for him he just can't stay healthy...

The NFL Network is salivating over the idea of Matt Forte signing with the Patriots. They will use any excuse to talk about them. They are basically campaigning for them to go after Forte just so they can even talk about them more often then they already do.

Hate to say it but the Patriots are a perfect landing spot for Forte; he's fantastic outta the backfield catching the ball & the Pats have always liked to utilize that specific route if they have a back capable of it (still surprised they ever let Danny Woodhead get away) Plus he'd have a great chance at a ring, something that obviously we can't offer...I'd love to have a guy like Forte but unless Ross throws huge money at him, why would he even consider coming to Miami??

I'd prefer they keep Miller if possible. He's just hitting his prime.

The Browns announced Thursday that they’ve released veteran tight end Jim Dray and veteran defensive lineman Randy Starks.Starks was signed last year as the Browns got older but not better on defense. He started 15 games at defensive end and had 29 tackles and one sack. Starks, 32, is a two-time Pro Bowler who has [more]

                    Anyone want Starks back?
