  • Compare Miami to Denver?

To me, on O Miller is better than Anderson. Tannehill is better than Peyton (at this point), our receivers are more talented with a healthy Parker, and our OL can be as good with a healthy Albert, James, Pouncey and a big sign at OG. Off season plan- keep Miller, sign the OG and a backup OT. Done.

On D, a healthy Wake with OV and Suh could be close to as good on the DL Past that, Jones is better than any safety and the rest is a mess. Off season plan- keep OV, Wake, spend every other additional dime and every draft pick to at least come up to NFL standards. Work in progress.

Anyone remember the last time we had a real D?

If we upgrade our OG's then we actually would have a more talented offense than the Broncos.

We are so far behind on defense though it isn't even funny. The Broncos have the #1 defense in the NFL. The Dolphins have one of the worst defenses in the NFL.

Suh Jones and if we resign OV are good building blocks for our defense. However we need a lot more. We need another good edge rusher to complement OV. We need 2 good starting corners and a FS. We need an ILB and another OLB. We need all of that just to put a good defense on the field, and that doesn't even take depth into account.

No way this OL only needs one OG, we need two good OG, RT and a back up LT, Pouncey is only average at best.

On D, we're not even in the same League as Denver, the Donks have 3 VG cover men, we have Zero, Nada, None on any day, oh, Grimes he's wershed up, I saw him on the ground for most of the season.

LB'ers, we have Zero, Nada, Nothing, the Donks have a pretty good group, Von Miller...guys a beast, he does more in one day than out LB's have done all year...

DE, Miami's, forget about it, weak one dimensional.....every time the Panthers thought about a run, which was every first down play, they were stuffed.

Coaching, lol, yes Wade is the #1 DC in this league, always has been....

Oh yea, we could have had Wade here coaching for us on D....., ummm but the gut feeling Ross kept Philbin and Co on after that perfect game Gino had against us, does he even play any more?, That sealed it right there for this team this year. That was the time for Ross to have cleaned house, the very next day, he didn't instead made a circus out of the Fins this year.

Super Bowls are %90 won by D, last night is a great example of what a great D is like, this Miami team has one great player on D, the Donks had 11.....

Oh yea, Von Miller a second overall pick, Jordan for the Dolphins was a third overall pick.....that's a great example of why we are the laughing stock of the League and teams like the Donks are hoisting trophies.....

The Dolphins are nowhere near being close to the same team the Broncos are right now. What the world saw yesterday was the best team in football shutting down the most prolific offense in football. The Dolphins are NOT a couple pieces away from being able to do that. If the Dolphins had these extra pieces that are being discussed and played in the Super Bowl yesterday the score would have been Panthers 56 vs Dolphins 17. The Dolphins offense can't score in the redzone, Miller would NOT be able to run on the Broncos defense, the dink and dunk BS offense that Tannehill if forced to run because of is inadequacies would be a dream offense for the Broncos to exploit and embarrass. It's time to stop looking at the Dolphins through Aqua and Orange glasses and see the team for what it truly is right now, a white hot mess. Yes, the team can improve IF the front office FINALLY makes the correct moves in free agency and the draft, but to somehow compare them with the Super Bowl Champion Broncos is grasping at straws.

Guy who's probably going to benefit the most from Denver and Von Miller winning the SB is probably Noah Spence...

Senior Bowl: Day 3 NFL Media observations

              "Mike Mayock

» I thought the D-line dominated this week. From my perspective, Eastern Kentucky's Noah Spence had the best week of any edge rusher. He's 6-foot-2 1/2, 253 pounds. Who does he remind you of? How about the Miami Dolphins' Olivier Vernon or Detroit Lions' Darryl Tapp?

LSU linebacker Deion Jones has turned some heads this week.

True Dat..Von Miller had a Lawrence Taylor-esque performance in the SB; absolutely UNSTOPPABLE!!! And as they say, the NFL is a copycat league...

There was one big exception, DP. Von Miller was playing the game on Pepsi while Taylor was playing on Coke. :-)

There is no way to compare the two teams, Miami is not even close to Denver's caliber.

Apples to Oranges argument. There isn't even a similarity
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

I can agree on not matching up well against Denver's defense, but disagree against the Panthers... We dominated the Panthers in the off-season joint workouts/scrimmages... it was one of the reasons expectations were so high last off-season... unfortunately, injuries and poor coaching killed our season.

Hell, the last time we faced each of these teams, we took them to the end of the games and lost due to the defense not being able to hold onto leads.

So glad Philbin, Lazor, and Coyles both are gone.

I think if you take each player from the Dolphins and match them up against the Panthers there are only two players that the Dolphins players are better at, DT and SS. Other than those two positions I think the Panthers defense is far superior to that of the Dolphins. Kuechly is one of the best MLB's in the league and Norman is arguably the best cover corner in the league. I don't see how the Dolphins defense even compares. I think it was all media hype because of the Suh trade. Most fans knew that the Dolphins linebackers all sucked and that other than Grimes and Jones their secondary was a complete and utter joke. The media, and some fans, mistakenly THOUGHT that the front four of the Dolphins Defense was going to be so dominant that it wouldn't matter that their linebackers and secondary wasn't good. There were posts on this and the old forum where fans posted that very thing, that the d-line will be so dominant that they didn't need to go after better linebackers and corners. Wrong!!

I don't necessarily disagree with that, but I think the Broncos and Panthers both have and had better coaching and FOs. I think they have many much better players at key positions and I think each has better overall OL, ,pass rushers, and defenses and stayed relatively healthy.

Yes, we're lacking talent at some key positions, but we were very beat up each of the past 2 seasons as well and our coaches did us no favors by not adapting to the strengths of the players they had each game.

Injuries to Wake and Delmas really exposed us and Grimes and Jenkins played most of the year at about 70/80% each. I think most surprising was how much Jamar Taylor digressed. He simply looked his worst ever this season. Also, apart from Suh, none of the other FAs played well.
