  • Stay, Go or Restructure- CB Brice McCain

Stay, go or restructure: CB Brice McCain
    Experience: Six seasons
2015 stats: 39 tackles, one interception
    2016 salary/cap charge: $2.5 million, $3.5 million cap
Analysis: McCain got off to a good start with a key interception in Miami’s Week 1 victory over the Washington Redskins. However, he never quite maintained that momentum the rest of the season. McCain was in and out of the starting lineup and had some nagging injuries. He was inconsistent playing both on the perimeter and in the nickel for Miami, and it appears McCain’s days could be numbered. The Dolphins likely will add cornerbacks to the mix next season and have a pair of rookie cornerbacks in Bobby McCain and Tony Lippett, who got valuable experience in the final weeks of the season.

I would much rather see the other DB McCain and Lippet and they are less than 20 cents on the dollar. Also clears up some of the McCain confusion in name.

Brice McCain's a bum,, so technically i guess he fits right in on our D!

He's almost as good as Jamar Taylor. A whole group of CBs (excluding Brent Grimes) that don't know how to play the ball. Shocking what a pathetic group we had and that Coyle was supposed to be a DB guru, right?

Every time I saw an opposing QB make a big play I could bet that #24 had coverage.
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

Yeah, at times #21 would get jealous and join in.

I would release Brent Grimes and Brice McCain. I would sign Trumaine Johsnon or Janoris Jenkins in FA. Then draft a DB in the first 2 rounds. Vernon Hargreaves in round 1 or Kendall Fuller in round 2. Those 2 would be the likely starters. Then we have Taylor Bobby McCain and Lippett to round out our corps of DB's since we would most likely keep 5. Maybe bring in an UDRFA for some more competition.

Depends on what we do elsewhere. He isn't expensive (which is good - since he isn't very) - but he might be worth hanging on to. Let him compete in camp and see how the rookies and FAs we bring in do. I think he would be a *fair* backup at both slot and boundary (better in the slot though).
