I know this is only a guideline. I'm thinking that, depending on how things shake out, we might consider trading up 2-3 spots to get who we want IF it only costs around a 3rd round pick.

We'll see... and hopefully a move up - if it happens - pans out much better than back in 2013.

Yeah Cuch, we traded up from 12 to 3 for Jordan, a 1,000 point difference and only gave up # 42 worth 480 points. LUCKY US!!!

Indeed... best case scenario, the new coaching regime can reach out to him and try to bring him back into the fold and make DJ a productive player. I won't hold my breath though. lol...

Kiper's first mock has us taking Shaq Lawson. I like Lawson a lot, but would prefer a DB in the first. If not, Lawson makes a lot of sense as well.

I think the chart needs to be updated. There's more better prospects than 20 years ago and needs to be tweeked. JMO

Here's a site I found with some draft trade history. FWIW to sort out how antiquated the chart is.

I don't think we need to move up. There will be a good player available to us at #8 and we have so many needs we could take a DB a DE or a LB. We could also trade down. I was thinking the Rams might be a good team to trade down with if they want to trade up for either Goff or Lynch if one of them is available at #8. Also they have 2 2nd round picks #43 and #45. I would consider trading down to #15 in exchange for the #45 pick. We would still owe them 100 draft points but I would tell them if they want their QB badly enough they will have to eat those 100 draft points.

I'm trying to think of a good reason to even consider moving up, and not a one is coming to mind...IMO, this team has so many holes (need every pick possible) and i'm thinking best case scenario is a 2 year, but more than likely a 3-4 year turnaround..To me, it just doesn't make any sense to me to move up..actually makes more sense doing something i hate doing normally, & that's to trade back & pick up extra picks..

I agree, trading up makes no sense. If anything I would look to trade down since we have so many needs. Like I said the Rams could be a good trade down partner since they have 2 2nd round picks and we could still get an elite player at #15.

How's Trading about 10 spots for a fair trade down and acquiring a mid 2 rounder.

Considering the number of holes we have and our total lack of depth, I would be all about trading down....unless someone surprisingly falls. I think we need to stockpile picks and look for VALUE.

I am all about jumping on this band wagon. I DO NOT WANT TO GIVE UP ANY PICKS, just in case I wasn't clear in any earlier posts. Althought, I don't follow college ball much, from what little I've read this is a deep draft on defense and in positions we need. If the person we want is not there at at I would be all for dropping back some and picking up more picks. We are not one or two players away we need to reload the magazine.

It's funny, but i'm almost ALWAYS dead-set against trading down when you're picking in the top 10; can't stand the whole quantity over quality approach (Odrick & Misi over Earl Thomas ring a bell??)..I can't stand missing out on the top talent that can usually be had between picks 5-10..IMO, your chance of having an elite stud even accidentally fall into your lap (which is usually what it would take for us to succeed) at pick #8 is pretty high and decreases significantly every pick you drop down past the top 10 or so picks..BUT that being said, unless we feel a SUPERSTAR has fallen into our laps @ 8, i'd look to trade back and get as many prime picks as we can. To me this roster is somewhat void of a lot of prime talent (picture a crop that has been ravaged by locusts) & needs all the help it can get...

We need so many holes filled that you just about have to drop back, unless the guy you want is sitting right there.
