Yeah, not at all thrilled with this move and Rumor has it the LB coach may tag along. Those are the two guys responsible for the players who coast the Bengals a win against Pitt. Just what we need is two coaches who can't keep their players in line. While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.👍 1-
JMO, but Burfict and Jones have no business on a roster at all. That's on the Cinci Organization. Not a lot a position coach can do about their behavior if the HC and FO won't step in and back them up. Both have a long history and Burfict has been fined time and again for attempts to injure opposing players. He's one of the most fined in the NFL each season. -
Agree Cuch, Burfict has zero business even being allowed to play professional football; he is a thug who'd probably have already been arrested if some of the shit he has done was on the street rather than a football field..I've always respected Marvin Lewis a lot, but lost some of that respect when he didn't previously sit Burfict's ass or look to suspend him..And we all know what a classless act Pacman Jones is..I guess it's appropo that those two guys cost Lewis his first playoff victory ever!... -
100% correct Cuch. Those two guys are thugs. There was a reason Burfict was not drafted, he was a gang banger and nothing but trouble. We all know Pacmans history as well. There wasn't a dam thing those coaches could do other than bench them to prevent the thugs from coming out. They even talked to Burfict prior and during telling him to keep his emotions in check. I'd put more blame on the FO and Lewis for letting these two thugs on the team.

I don't know enough to really have an opinion at this point. I know he was wanted last year as a DC and Cinci would not let him talk to other teams. They couldn't block him this time because his contract ended. As far as what D he'll run or anything else.....we'll see. May be great, may suck.Comment

If true, I like the hiring myself. Like Gase, he's regarded as a highly intelligent Football guy.
I'm sure Lewis was happy to see him go as Johnson was highly regarded as the coach in waiting to take over HC of the Bengals if he was fired... the Cinci Org blocked Denver from taking him last year.
Quote from last year...
Lewis told Bengals.com and the Cincinnati Enquirer that the decision to block Joseph, one of the Bengals' co-defensive backs coaches, from leaving for Denver was "a hard one."It was so hard because team president Mike Brown recognizes Joseph's value, Lewis said on the television show Thursday.
"My boss and owner sees him as a star," Lewis said, "and a guy that, as I told Vance, he could be sitting in my chair very quickly."
Lewis then added, laughing: "It could be next year."Comment

Denver wanted him before they hired Wade Phillips (presumably to run a similar defense) and Cinci blocked anyone from hiring him as he was under contract. When Gase interviewed with the 49ers he wanted Fangio or Joseph instead of Tomsula as his DC.

You guys ever think that there may be a special connection between minority Coach and the majority minority players? Im sure they both want each other to succeed and give more for each other. Somehow an old white coach just seems privileged and advantaged from a very early age. Vance need to come up with a good game plan that mold to the players and they will fight for the Coach. No pun intended.
P.S. I understand no matter how much minority in you if your a **** then your a ****. In this case I don't think so.Last edited by AquaXI; 01-12-2016, 07:11 PM.Just frolic and live in the now like Dolphins and Man's best friend.Comment

Biggest news from that annoucement was the hiring of Chris Foerster as the new OL Coach. He was Wanny's Offensive Coordinator back in 2004 when we started at 1-8 before Wanny resigned and Bates took over.

HERE IS AN INTERESTING READ ON HIM..........................This was from an article posted a year ago before the Broncos hired Wade Phillips as their DC.
PHOENIX — — Whether their defensive coordinator becomes the guy they most want, Vance Joseph, or their second choice, Wade Phillips, the Broncos are probably transitioning to a 3-4 alignment.
The Broncos used the 4-3 defense the past four seasons under coach John Fox. For the most part, Fox preferred the 4-3 because he believed it was easier for his defense to fill the running lanes.
The past three seasons, the Broncos ranked second, seventh and third against the run. But both Joseph and Phillips like the 3-4 better because they believe it helps the pass rush.
In a 3-4, offenses never know where the fourth pass rusher is coming from. The Broncos already have two key components common in successful 3-4 defenses: two premier pass rushers on the edge in Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware, and three quality cornerbacks capable of playing man-to-man coverage in Chris Harris, Aqib Talib and Bradley Roby.
"We've already been running something like a 3-4," Miller said. "You look at our base defense last year, all DeMarcus had to do was stand up and it was a 3-4."
One more requirement for a 3-4 is a quality nose tackle. This is where Terrance Knighton, a free agent in mid-March, could move a tick or two higher on the Broncos' list of offseason priorities.
With the Cincinnati Bengals still not allowing Joseph to get out of the final year of his contract, the Broncos moved forward Tuesday by interviewing Phillips for their defensive coordinator position.

I missed this earlier...
Greg Likens @GregLikens In Joseph's 2 seasons as Cincy's DBs coach, they led the NFL w/ 41 INTs & limited opponents to the lowest passer rating (77.4) in that span

After looking at Vances coaching tree he's been in more 3-4 schemes except in Cincy where they ran 4-3. I can see us running a hybrid with the personnel we have now and more cover 3. If we're going to switch to a full time 3-4 it'll take some time and I prefer a hybrid of both schemes.Comment
