  • Keeping Darren Rizzi, Campbell opting out...

The Miami Dolphins have a new head coach but they may lose Dan Campbell in the process. This according to a PalmBeachPost report.

    Coaches Coming's & Going's:

The Miami Dolphins have hired Adam Gase as the team's new head coach. With a new coach in place, plenty of changes to the assistant coaches are coming, and some of Miami's assistants are already starting to move on.

Rex tried to hire Dan couple of years ago. Would not be surprised to see him make another attempt.

Not even sure why we retained Rizzi. Not like our special teams were anything "Special".

Agree on a RB/WR who can return kickoffs. D Williams, with both hand or one, is not the answer. This does make a difference.

They were much worse when he became the Asst HC and was no longer in charge of them. Biggest issue was penalties, which were mental mistakes.

Most are going back to college. Goes to show Philbins cast of characters aren't even looked at in the NFL. This will be my last Philbin bashing, in order for me to get well I need forgive him for causing many ailments hehehe.

I think that's pretty telling....we'll see what happens with the rest, but I don't see a whole lot of "Kacy Rogers" or "Mel Phillips" on that list though.

I thought Rizzi did good with what he had to work with. He has never really had a "return man" and before he became assistant HC I thoght the ST unit was by far the best on the team and very good in the league.

Perhaps I'm just so disillusioned with the entire team that I failed to see or remember anything special.

To me it seemed they were decent at the start (though the decisions their return guys make rank as some of the worst i've ever seen, including Landry fielding punt after punt between the 5-10 yd. line!) Then turned atrocious when Rizzi became asst. HC, which i'm assuming came with more responsibilities, thus taking time away from his ST's work...

Agree, Shane... and there was a noticeable drop off when he became the Asst HC.

This is funny! The Miami Dolphins coaches are moving to their same positions they had with the Dolphins, but doing so in the college ranks. Most would consider these lateral moves.

I think it says a lot about the level of talent Milquetoast Joe brought to the Miami coaching staff. I don't fault him on all of them of course (Lazor was a good idea that failed miserably - but I was excited about the hire when it happened). He certainly lost a lot of talent along the way though. Letting Kacy Rogers go to the jests was a colossal fail.

In My Opinion Philbin's biggest mistake was allowing Sherman to have so much say in player personnel and coaches as well. It just seemed like after Sherman was hired he took over Philbin's job. All of a sudden the Dolphins coaching staff was filled with Texas A&M guys, including Sherman's son-in-law and that was a big mistake. The Dolphins have been stuck with those mistakes until recently.
