  • Would anyone like this mock draft?

R1. LB Myles Jack - UCLA - He has a similar skill set to Jaylon Smith. With Smith's Fiesta Bowl injury their situations have now reversed since Jack's injury came early in the season he will be ready to perform at the combine where as Smith won't. Jack might have the best coverage skills of any LB in this draft.

R2. DB Cameron Sutton - Tennessee - I would release Brent Grimes and try to sign DB Janoris Jenkins. Sutton can start right away as the #2 corner.

R3. FS Darian Thompson - Boise State - We continue to revamp our secondary.

R4. OG Rees Odhiambo - Boise State - He should be able to start right away with as pathetic as our OG's are.

R5. QB Nate Sudfeld - Indiana - We need to develop a young QB and I have a good feeling about him.

R6. DE Silverberry Mouhon - Cincinnati - We need to add a young pass rusher.

R7. WR Jordan Payton - UCLA - Matthews and Jennings probably won't return and so we need to add another WR.

I could dig itas long as you're adding other starters in FA and the top dbs are off the board.

Yes of course we need to add some other starters in FA. I think Ramsey will be gone by the time we select at #8. I don't know if Hargreaves will be there or not. I could see the Jaguars or Ravens taking him. After Ramsey and Hargreaves there is a drop off so if thats the case I would lean towards Myles Jack at #8. Then take Sutton in the 2nd round.

If Hargreaves is available at #8 then I might just take him and do something like this.

R1. DB Vernon Hargreaves - Florida
R2. FS Darian Thompson - Boise State
R3. OG Joshua Garnett - Stanford
R4. LB Cassanova McKinzy - Auburn
R5. LB Deion Jones - LSU
R6. QB Nate Sudfeld - Indiana
R7. WR Jordan Payton - UCLA

Yes to the 2nd option cause I'm Leary of knee injuries especially at 8. I know people will point to Peterson and Gurley but still.

Not for nothing, but me personally am not drafting a guy in the top 10 coming off a serious knee injury. Myles and Smith were very good college players and may be great NFL players, but I am not taking that risk. Too many good SB's will be there when Miami picks to take a player coming off a knee injury IMO.

Besides, Ramsey is #1 on my board and I think there is a good chance he could be there when Miami picks.

Don't see Ramsey being there but, want a CB #1 to go with a pricey FA. Are you seeing anything at Mike worthwhile?

Ramsey could be there. The only two teams picking in front of Miami that I could see targeting CB/DB would be Jacksonville and Baltimore. Jacksonville is probably the biggest threat and I think they do take either Ramsey or Hargreaves. Right now I see LT a bigger need for Baltimore than DB.

                Right now, my top picks for Miami are;
                1. Ramesy
                2. Lawson
                3. Hargreaves

I am pretty confident as of right now at least one of not all three are there when Miami picks.

As far as MIKE goes, in the draft I like Scooby Wright a lot and if he is there in the thrid I jump all over him. I also like Tyler Matakevich out of Temple in late second or third. I know a lot of Dolphin fans like to compare the next great white LB to Zach Thomas, and I don't know if I have ever done that, but watch this guy and you can't help but compare.

In free agency, if he hits the market I would love to land Zach Brown. I wanted Miami to draft him, but they obviously didn't so would love to see them bring him in. If Joseph comes in as the DC I would think he may try and get Tannebaum to lure Vincent Rey in who can play inside and outside. Sean Spence might be a nice player coming off his rookie contract that could compete. I know many fans wanted Miami to draft him when he was coming out.

I honestly would look to fill OG and ILB in free agency. I will put my plan together once I see the staff brought in, but leaning towards restructuring Grimes and Wake to keep them around but drafting heavy on the defensive side of the ball. I really liked what I saw from Nelson Hewitt and if I am Vance Joseph the first day I am calling Deon Jordan and getting a face to face to see if he has any desire to play. If they do this right they can turn the team around in a season, they just gotta realize they aren't one person away.

Living in Phoenix now, I have seen a lot of Scooby Wright. I'd LOVE to see us get him in the draft - incredibly instinctive and always at the ball. Just what we need. If we can't get him (and don't draft one at the top), Blake Martinez is another guy I like. Could be a really good value pick later on.

I agree with your top 3 choices for our first round pick. Either one of the elite DB prospects in Ramsey or Hargeaves or DE Lawson. I think the Jags are going to take Ramsey. The Ravens will probably take an OT. Which should leave Hargreaves available to us. Do you like Lawson better than Ogbah? I have seen some sites that rate Ogbah higher and some that rate Lawson higher. Until Jaylon Smith's injury I thought he should be our first round selection but his injury scares me.

I think we will address the o-line in both free agency and the draft. I think we can also address some defensive positions in free agency but would use the draft to primarily upgrade our defense.

As far as ILB's go in the draft. Kentrell Brothers in the 3rd round or Cassanova McKinzy in the 4th round could be good options.

I like Lawson a lot. I have seen him take over games. While he may not put up huge sack numbers I think he sets the edge as good as any DE in the draft. IMO he is the complete DE and him opposite OV with Suh/Phillips in the middle...I'd take that D line. Restructure Wake and pay him as a situation pass rusher and I would be stoked.

I wouldn't be upset with Brothers or McKinzy either, I just like Wright and Matakevich better. I think there are several options in the draft, but if they can afford it I would go sign a vet.

I think DE is a need that many people are not considering. So I would be pleased with Shaq Lawson. There are a lot of mock drafts that have him going to the Giants a couple spots below us so he would not be a reach at #8 by any means. I do like that he is a complete DE which is what we need. I would be happy with a draft that looks like this.

                    1. DE Shaq Lawson
                    2. DB Cameron Sutton
                    3. LB Kentrell Brothers
                    4. FS Deon Bush
                    5. OG Rees Odhiambo
                    6. QB Nate Sudfeld
                    7. OT Pearce Slater

I love this draft, except I might swap out Jacob Coker for Sudfeld. Coker reminds me of Carson Palmer, he really came on the second half of the season for Bama and has played in a pro-system. Sudfeld played in a stretch uptempo offense. I think he has a bigger learning curve and see similar upside from both.
