  • Marvin Lewis??

Omar Kelly's #1 choice for our next HC (actually i think his #1 choice is TCU's Gary Patterson, but that's not happening) Bengals HC Marvin Lewis...He makes some very valid points about Lewis and has said he'd be willing to give up a pick for him. Lewis constantly has that out-manned Bengals team playing competively within the tough AFC North..This year was an off-year for that division as the Ravens had a terrible year but generally speaking both the Ravens and the Steelers are tough as hell to beat and even the Browns seem to always play their best football within the division. Lewis usually gets it done with lesser talent as the Bengals cheapskate owner tends not to open his wallet to either keep their own talent from leaving or to bring quality talent in..

Lewis also has a QB very similar to Ryan Tannehill (far, far, far from elite) yet all he does is win. He's got the Bengals in the playoffs again leaving all of us scratching our heads as to how he keeps doing it...The playoffs thus far has been his kryptonite as he hasn't been able to buy a postseason win,, some think that because of his postseason failures if he loses to the Steelers this weekend he'll be fired...Stranger things have happened (Remember John Fox was fired after going 12-4!!!)

If this were to happen i would hope the Dolphins would be on Marvin Lewis's doorstep with a contract ready to be signed!

Not too sure about Lewis and I am definitely not too sure about Dalton either. I think Andy Dalton made a HUGE leap this season and his name might have to be mentioned with the Big Boys now. If you disagree, pull up Brady's stats and look at them side-by-side with Andy Dalton's. After doing that, minus the three games that Dalton had to miss and you are looking at similar numbers in every category. 106.2 Passer Rating. 25 TD's to only 7 INT's. He really turned the corner this season and in my opinion he is a big reason why they did so well this season.

I think Lewis is a good HC but why would the Bengals fire him? He has taken them to the playoffs 5 years in a row. The Bengals must have very good personnel people since they are not know to be big spenders so I am not sure he would have the same success with the Dolphins since we don't have a good track record with our personnel department.

Remember Schottenheimer? Bolts canned him with a 10&6 record. Wish he was younger... Playoffs every year

yeah, i doubt they'd fire him either..but as i said stranger things have happened..In today's age of what have you done for me lately, sometimes winning in the regular season isn't enough..and also as i said, John Fox was fired after going 12 & 4...

I agree that Dalton has stepped up his game,, but i have to give a lot of the credit for that to Lewis as well..IMO, he's done a great job in putting together that team & the gameplan to give them the best shot at winning week-in & week-out...

Hue Jackson did wonders for that offense and Dalton - as well as AJ McCarrons. Dalton has had a solid OL, receivers, and running game for several seasons. That's why they didn't miss a beat when when he went out and AJ stepped in.

I watched a bunch of their games but I will admit that I don't know much about the Bengals and what Lewis has or has not done. They seem to have a really good defense, they have two good RB's, an outstanding WR and TE and now that Dalton is coming around they also have themselves a really good quarterback. I think the Bengals are solid and long as Dalton keeps playing the way he has this season. But, having typed all that, I don't know why anyone would fire a head coach that has helped put together a team like that.

lol, yeah me either..unless they've got dumber ownership than even us, i will say if he's one & done again by losing to the Steelers, he'll be zero & 7 in the playoffs....

You are absolutely correct in your assessment of their talent; it's really starting to come around..and i don't really know how much of it has to do with Lewis but part of the HC's responsibility is recognizing the best talent and making sure it's out there on the field (Philbin was famous for recognizing his best talent, viewing it as a threat and either getting rid of it or benching it)...I would think that Lewis is at least one important common denominator in the Bengals success, being that he's been there for 13 years & the team he puts out there every Sunday seems to almost always play competitively...In the 'What have you done for me lately' category, his records since 2011 are 9-7, 10-6, 11-5, 10-5-1, and 12-4 this year, winning the division...

This thread is probably pretty moot all around as first of all, the Bengals couldn't possibly be so stupid as to get rid of a HC who has proven both that he can still produce after 13 years & consistently take a team to the playoffs & secondly to think we'd be smart enough to sign him if he hit the market (Wouldn't want the smell of a Winner stinking up the place!)...

Anyway, it's probably all REALLY moot, because our dumbasses will more than likely already have signed Adam Gase as our next HC before the Bengals even hit the field this weekend...

I wish ANOTHER team would hire him so I can stop having nightmares of the Dolphins being the fools that falls for this media hype. I am not even typing his name. I think Ross likes him and IF Tannenbaum does it's for the wrong reasons. Also, why is there two people employed by the Dolphins with "Tanne" in their name? I have never met anyone with a last name like either one of them.

lol, yeah i've been thinking the exact same thing...I've also been thinking that another team would hire him & he'll go on to become the next great NFL HC! We as Fins fans damn sure know we are damned if we do & damned if we don't!!!

Omar Kelly is an idiot and a racist. Lewis isn't available and won't be available. All Kelly cares about is saying the stupidest thing he can say because for some reason that gets internet hits for him. I refuse to read anything he "writes" and I try not to acknowledge he even exists.
                Can we sign this guy?
