Personally, i think Payton would just end up using us for leverage to get the best deal out there; more than likely as some have already opined, with the NY Giants (considered the primo job currently available)

I'm not, not if it's gonna cost us a pick or two that we can't afford to give up.
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

yeah, i hear ya...but i found it interesting that some would view giving up a 2nd rounder for a quality HC similar to acquiring a top-flight player (albeit one that could never suit up for you, lol) I also remember the last time we gave up a draft pick for a HC, and that didn't work out half bad...

Instead of looking at Sean Payton vs a Draft Pick why don't we look at Payton vs A Player?

Would you rather have a head coach like Payton or Lamar Miller? If you could trade a player for a second round pick to a team in need, then use that pick to land Payton, would you do it? The Dolphins could trade a player for a 2nd round draft pick or package a couple players together to get that draft pick.

If he had anything to do with the Jimmy Graham trade I wouldn't want him unless he had no say in player personnel.

Payton is good friends with Dan Campbell. He won't want to steal his thunder by throwing his name in the hat. With that said I'm fine with Payton, but I like everyone else do not like the idea of giving up a draft pick for him. I say roll with what's out there. I really like the idea of Shannahan, and if not him then Coughlin grooming Campbell. That might be the best potential situation. Coughlin will be able to get big name coordinators and Campbell can work closely with all aspects of the team for 3 or 4 years, then when Coughlin retires Campbell gets the gig.

not for nothing but ,if miami did get coughlin with DC ass.HC then right when DC is ready for the HC job some one in the division steals him and he haunts miami for years after that, that would be just miami's luck!

I like Payton but I don't want to give up any high draft picks for him.
