  • Wow! Didn't see that one coming!

Apparently the Colts Jim Irsay didn't get the memo on Chuck Pagano's demise...The firing of Pagano, HC of the Colts who had been linked to the Fins vacancy, was pretty much a foregone conclusion to just about everyone was inked to a 4 year extension...

My guess is Irsay told Pagamo and Grigson to play nice or he will shit can both of them next year. Pagamo is a good coach and Grigson has given him a lousy roster. I'd also bet Irsay got some input from Luck.

Forgone conclusion was also that Payton would head to Indy once he left New Orleans. Wonder where they will say he'll head now? My guess is the Giants.
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

Like Coughlin, Sean Payton has ties back to Parcells and the Giants. Win be surprised if the Giants don't hire Payton, but it depends on whether they want to give the Saints a 2nd round pick for his rights.

Did anyone see Coughlin at the press conference?

I don't care about his age, that man has more fire then most of the coaches around the league. The Giants CEO keeps contradicting himself as to why Coughlin was pushed out. He is basically blaming Coughlin while admitting that the personnel, especially on defense, haven't been good enough. Ummmm, that's a GM problem, not a head coaching problem. I have no problem if the Dolphins try and hire Coach Coughlin

Shades of Shula for Johnson... Giants have their eye on someone already. Probably Payton.

The CEO kept avoiding the media's questions about who they might be looking at as their new head coach but one of the reporters worded their questions cleverly. They asked if they would be willing to give up a draft pick in order to get a head coach. That question made him really uncomfortable and I'm sure everyone knew which coach that reporter was referring to when the question was asked.

Irsay said he didn't want to make a so called "Big Splash" in hiring a coach. WTF? Keeping a good coach is a "Big Splash".
