  • Upon further review...

I know all of you guys know how i felt about what i initially considered shooting ourselves in the foot & winning an absolute meaningless game...My thinking was that (going into the game) if everything fell into place we could have a top 5 pick fall into our laps (maybe even a 3 or 4) This would be absolutely HUGE to a trainwreck of a franchise that needs every bit of help that it can get! Well, in retrospect only the 49ers held up their end of the bargain, so even had we lost we would've only moved up a spot or two to pick 6, not that big a difference..So upon further review as most have said, it does feel good to have beaten the stinkin'-cheatin Pats, hopefully sending them to a quick playoff exit!

Yeah, I think the Dolphins win on Sunday was well worth it.

lol... dunno about $114M, but it was definitely worth the $6M Suh made this season.

I guess i read your comment too quickly..At first i thought it said that they were reporting that Suh sprained Brady's ankle 'after' the game..Now that would've been funny!

LOL... my favorite parts of the game other than the TDs, amd the fabulous catch by Parker, were watching Brady writhe in pain and limp back to the sideline.

I'm glad we won, you play the game to win, not for next years draft, you tell these guys to lay down, you'll never be respected again....Way to go Dolphins, and a great game beating those cheaters....although if they get healthy they going to the SB....

The Donkies won't make it, they will start Manning and he'll go back to throwing 3-4 ints and fail as usual in post season....

Not sure i can speak for everyone but when i talked about it being best if we'd lose, in no way, shape or form was i talking about either throwing the game or a coach telling the players to lay down..We ALL saw enough of the Fins this year to understand that if given half a chance they'd find a way to lose without having to throw the game..Going into the game i thought it would've been a perfect opportunity to play as many of the young guys as you could to see what you had on the roster, but of course DC was more interested in doing whatever he could for a W, to try and bolster his hopes of landing the permanent job!

i didn't see the game and so i still don't understand how we beat a Pats team that needed to win to get homefield throughout..Funny you should mention throwing the game b/c i've been reading that there are many saying the Pats weren't even trying to win the game, they were just using it as a tune-up for the playoffs; which in my mind makes no sense at all with what was on the line for them!

That may have been the worst game I have seen the Patriots play since Brady has been their starting quarterback. They looked like they were trying to throw the game, just to mess with the Dolphins draft position. They have injuries all over their roster but they changed their entire playbook. They weren't running their traditional pick plays, quick slants, etc. They looked like they didn't want to win or even play on Sunday. It was weird.

We played an awful lot of young guys bud, some names I didn't even recognize like who the hell is "Gary"? Wasn't so much we won as it is the Pats lost. They looked lethargic to say the least.

Pats OL was worse than ours for a change given all the injuries - and it showed.

You know, the Pats didn't look like they wanted to be on the field yesterday....so what you say could be true...

Never know what's in that head of Billycheat, except he's planning on cheating again.....The Pats should get some players back, and who knows, you play much harder if your backs against the wall....

That's what i'm afraid of! Will suck BIG-TIME if this is just their wake-up call and a catalyst moving forward!

I think their o-line is not much better than miami's.
they where trying to run and miami was putting them in 3rd and long situations and miami's CB's where actually covering their responsibilities close ,not 5yrds off the receivers.
to me it was they knew that they need to run the ball because brady has been getting pummeled the last couple of weeks and they know that in the play offs the competition only gets stiffer.
they failed to run and allieve the pressure on brady!!!! they kept saying about the amount of players injured being a factor in NE loses in the last few weeks, well all I have to say it them is miami has had more injuries than the patsies and they have had to fight through them, when NE get the injuries and it's like the world is ending . and yes the refs where trying to give NE the game but they couldn't without making look obvious!

Yes, their OL was garbage and Brady was under the sort of pressure and taking the sort of hits that Tannehill usually takes. Suh, Shelby, Jones, and Hewitt all had a very good game.

We may have found 1 LB, well better than the zero I had in the book of good Miami LB's, I like what I saw from Hewitt

They were trying, otherwise they wouldn't of risked Brady in that game. They ran the ball because they knew they couldn't protest against our front four. You don't think bellicheat knew we knocked mariota, Bradford and Hasselback out facing them? They couldn't do their slants and spread out because of their offensive line. We almost got Brady too

I heard Brady took a pounding against the Jets last week. I think Brady might have had some kind of injury prior to our game yesterday that the Patriots were not revealing. I found it odd that they ran the ball so much especially in 3rd and long situations. I just think they wanted to protect Brady from further injury and they knew our run defense stinks so they were trying to run the ball so much to see if we were just going to lay down and try to win by running the ball a lot but to our credit our defense came to play and did not allow the Patriots to successfully implement that strategy. I don't think the Patriots were trying to throw the game. They wanted homefield advantage throughout the playoffs but not at the expense of exposing Brady to further injury.

Good point!! I knew they weren't throwing the game. They are the Patriots, they would never throw a game. They try and humiliate ALL their opponents in every game. That is why when they are up by 40 points late in the 4th quarter they still have Brady in the game. Since they have a bye week we may never know if Brady was injured prior to the Dolphins game, unless his injuries were worsened by all the punishment he took against the Dolphins and he gets reinjured in their next game.
