  • Adam Gace & Teryl Austin - Head Coaching Interviews

Adam Gace has an interview planned with the Miami Dolphins on Thursday. Gace also has an interview planned with the Eagles on Tuesday.

Coincidently the Dolphins and Eagles both have interviews planned with Adam Gace AND they both have interviews planned for latter in the week with Teryl Austin.

Unfortunately, the NFL has this ridiculous Rooney Rule in place so I am not sure if anyone can take the Austin interview seriously. I knew that Gace was being considered but I never heard of Austin. When I read his name on the ticker on the NFL Network I was wondering if he was African-American. I looked him up and as it turns out, he is in fact African-American. So, it might be a degrading interview where each team goes through the motions to appease the NFL and its ridiculous rule while making a fool out of a coach by interviewing him for a job that he will never get all because of skin color.

I hope the Eagles hire Gace because the last thing this team needs is another coach hired and fired because of one man.

The Eagles have already satisfied the Rooney Rule by interviewing Duce Staley on Friday. They very well could hire Gase on Tuesday, but I expect Gase to listen to the other teams that are interested. While Teryl Austin satisfies the Rooney Rule he is a future HC in the NFL. I am not sure he gets a shot this year, but he will get his shot within the next couple of years.

You must follow the NFL a lot closer then I do because I have never heard of Austin before last night. I just thought it was strange that both teams have interviews being set up and they were both with the same two coaches. I understand that both teams are looking for a coach so there will be some overlapping going on but to see the exact two names for both teams was kind of strange/funny to me.

Looking more and more like Gase. I hope big men can respect a high school baller. Nothing concrete but just a rumor that Miami won't let him out of the city.

I really appreciate that, Aqua. I am just getting to a point that if I am correct about Tannenbaum and he is just interviewing these big names coaches to appease the fans, while all along he plans to hire the best coach that will be a Yes Man to him, then I will not be following the Dolphins into their demise for the next 3-5 years. It is literally the definition of insanity and I can't watch this Ground Hog Day movies any longer. I do NOT have a favorite coaching candidate, but I do have a SHORT list of head coaches that will force me into temporary retirement and Gase is on that list, along with Mangini and one or two others. Say NO to Yes Men! Yes YES to coaches with balls who know how to build a offensive line and either know about DEFENSES, or have a defensive coordinator who does. Gase is NOT that man. Shanahan is and a bunch of others are as well. JMO
