  • Poll: Should Dan Campbell Get Another Year?

With the offseason officially underway we are all aglow with an upset victory over the hated Patriots. Phinzone wants to know if YOU think Dan Campbell has earned the chance to coach another year. With a full off season, more players, and a staff HE gets to select? What say you Dolphin Nation?

campbell gets his interview on friday, and he wants the job,he put in 3/4 of a season into this mostly not up to nfl talent team,he's got the players pulling for him,and IMHO deserves to be on the top of the list!
if not in miami I hope he gets chance at maybe the giants if they part ways with coughlin or another team!

I don't think Tbaum is ready for the NFL.

At this point I'm undecided. On one hand he was impressive in his wins. The blow outs back to back, the squeaker in Philly, and the domination against the Pats. Losses were bad as well, and I think he can be a good motivator and multitasker as a head Coach but who he can get to run both sides are my real concerns. His connections to good people is the worry.

Mark my words, other than this interview with the Fins F.O.(a mere formality, IMO), DC won't get even a passing glance by any other team with a HC vacancy..Great guy who did as good a job as could really be expected under the circumstances, just years away from seriously being considered for an NFL HC position (Just my opinion)...

Agree... loved beating the Ravens, Texans, and Pats this season, and I love his attitude and ideas on winning, but he was more talk than walk in these last few games.

True Dat! I just think there's so much more to being a good HC than talking a good rah-rah game & having your players like you...

I voted no not because I don't like him because I absolutely do like him, he's just not ready yet. I said some time ago that the only thing him getting the interim HC job would do for us is cost us a very good TE coach. He'll get his shot some day, just not today.

I'm with D1. I love Campbell and have a lot of respect for him. My issue is I do not believe he can get the type of OC and DC this team needs for him to succeed. I wish there was some way we could keep in on the staff in a position that would work for both the team and Campbell, but I'm thinking this will be a complete overhaul and honestly that is probably the best.

As much as I liked what Hickey did in the past couple drafts, getting in new blood seems like the best option right now.

I think when you look out at the candidates there are none who I think is without red flags and risks. Would love to see us keep Dan Campbell. He is going to be one of those coaches we all say "damn we could have had him". Like Todd Bowles.

You may very well be correct Finatic. But the fact is Ross needs to make a splash and turn this thing around quicker than Campbell can IMO. With that said I would not be shocked to have a bunch of these guys run away after meeting with our FO folks and Campbell be the guy by default. Much like Hickey was as our GM. If that happened it wouldn't be all bad. I think Campbell has some good things going for him. My issue as I've stated before is he is not respected enough in league circles to bring in a DC like Schwartz and a strong OC.

I like DC, but don't think he is ready and worry about the staff he can put together. Shanahan has been and continues to be my top choice.

I'm on the fence about Shanny. I think he's a total **** but he may well be the best chance we have of ever seeing our O-line fixed and a ground game.

Like Tannehill or not his skill set fits what Shanahan runs. He also likes a power run game with a ZBS. Bring him in and it may not be a three year change.

You can't say Campbell didn't change things around here. We would not have won six games with Philbin. We wouldn't have blown out Tennessee, and the division-champ Texans with Philbin. Being a good coach is much more then "Xs&Os". There are other intangibles, that are just as important. Players will not fight for a guy they don't respect. Our guys will run through a wall for DC. They want him back. He's also not afraid to make changes if people don't perform(Coyle, Lazor). He was handed an absolute mess, and I think he did ok. You can't expect the guy to win a SB. The loss of Wake and James was crucial. Having them on the field most likely would have helped.

When any new coach comes in, it takes time to learn about your players, and establish relationships with your players. I would think this is the catalyst to them playing harder for you. Campbell already has a jump on this, and possibly even more. We don't need another previously-fired middle-aged man, who is set in his ways. We've got what we need. It's time for Ross to start listening to his players and fans, instead of that idiot Tannenbomb.

Campbell needs to become a OC or DC for a few years and learn what it takes to lead a team....He'll do well, just not as a HC for the Fins, that being said does he stay here and continue to develop under what I hope will become a great coach....

When he IS ready (I disagree and feel that he is ready now), do you think he'll forget the treatment he got from a for-shit franchise? The way I see it, he has the ability, and if we don't lock him into a good Contract, someone else will get the benefit of MIAMI's "pouring the foundation"...AGAIN, and MIAMI will get *****************...AGAIN.

MARVELLOUS, don't you think? VINTAGE MIAMI DOLPHINS!!!
