The Only Thing Dolphins Fans Have To Root For In December
1. Root For The Jets
Patriots clinch home field advantage IF they beat the Jets OR they tie the Jets and the Bengals lose.
Yep, this means we have to actually root for this Jets this weekend because Belichick and the Patriots have a rough time getting to the Super Bowl when they don't have home field advantage. I'm sure that has nothing to do with all the communication problems at their stadium that ALL their opponents experience.
2. Root For The Falcons
The Panthers play in the Falcons in Atlanta. The Falcons have looked terrible in recent weeks and are playing just to play, which on the surface looks like a sure win for the Panthers but these are the games teams have to worry about the most. It seems when a team has nothing to play for they play with that "nothing to lose" mentality and bring out all the stops. They will try trick plays, go for it on 4th down when they shouldn't, etc. The Bucs have a shot at beating them next week but I would prefer that the Falcons relieve that stress early.
ALSO, I think IF the Dolphins are interested in hiring Mike Shula this offseason there "might" be less teams interested if they don't go undefeated. He is already getting the attention he deserves with how Newton and the offense have been playing but a HUGE light will be cast on that offense if the team goes undefeated, which will create a media circus and Mike Shula's pricetag will go way up and his availability for the Dolphins to land him will decrease.

With the Dolphins stinking up the joint are you rooting for any other teams? Do you have a "second favorite" team, you know, not a team you love of course but a team that you kind of like and root for when they are not playing the Dolphins?
