  • We need to lose the next 2 games

We currently have the #8 pick in the draft. If we lose our last 2 games we will at least maintain the #8 pick and if we get some luck we could possibly move up a few spots.

This game against the Colts scares me because I think we might actually win especially if the Colts start Charlie Whitehurst. Then there is a nightmare scenario in which the Pats clinch homefield against the Jets then they might rest their starters against us which would mean we might win that game too.

    5-11 = likely pick #5-8

    6-10 = likely pick #9-12

    7-9 = likely pick #13-16

On another note here is more evidence of how truly bad we really are.

Dolphins offense total yards rank #29

Dolphins defense total yards rank #30

At this point 5-11 would be better than 2 more victories.

If the Dolphins could have any player in the first round of the draft who would you choose?

        QB Paxton Lynch

        QB Jared Goff

        DB Vernon Hargreaves

        LB Jaylon Smith

        DB Jalen Ramsey

        DE Emmanuel Ogbah

Or if you want somebody else who might that be?

I think the Patriots second stringers could beat this Dolphins team. I can't see this Dolphins team winning either team no matter what happens. The front office and coaching staff decided to go out and get a bunch of wide receivers for a quarterback who is not worthy and they totally ignored the offensive line. Now after a few injuries they have run out of linemen and I can't seen any scenario where the Dolphins win any of their remaining games. Their defense is horrific and their offense isn't far behind. Have you seen Tannehill's numbers in the past three games? It's time to draft a QB, EARLY!!

I hope you are right and we lose the next 2 games. I know you have been an advocate for us drafting Connor Cook. I am not really a fan of his since I don't think he is that good. Really drafting any QB is a crap shoot. Who would have thought Russell Wilson would turn out to be the best QB from the 2012 draft?

Also if we draft a QB in the first round that still won't solve our o-line or defensive problems. I think what I would do is try to address our o-line and defense in free agency and our early draft picks. Then take a QB in the middle rounds to at least give Tannehill come competition. I know Tannehill stinks but we are stuck with him for another year due to his contract unless we find a team who we can trade him to but that doesn't seem likely. Then I would draft a QB early in 2017. That will most likely be a better QB class anyway. Then we can get rid of Tannehill and have 2 young QB's going forward.

I'm really starting to like Jaylon Smith but if we could trade back and grab an extra 2 then Ragland I can live with. If we are fortunate enough to have 2 Second round picks then spen them on a CB then a Tackle/Guard. I'm hoping we also add a Corner in FA.

The big question is would we actually benefit from a higher draft pick?

That's always the million dollar question and judging by past performance you'd have to think, not so much...But one of these days our luck has to change & i'd much rather take my chances of landing an impact player picking in the 5-7 range rather than the 13-16 range...

Bringing up Russell Wilson is a great example of how hard/lucky a team has to be to land a great NFL quarterback. It has to be the hardest position to figure out which player will make the transition from college ball to the pros. I will watch a great deal of more 'tape' on the other QB's coming out but as of right now I still like Cook. Yes, he certainly does have his issues and I do see what you see and totally understand why you have reservations. I have them too. It's just one of those things you just can't explain when you see "something" in a player and you just have a gut feeling that they are going to do really well at the next level.

I totally agree with you that it is important to lose these last two games. It will assure the departure of this coaching staff who for some strange reason to me, they were getting all this love to pumping up the players to beat two horrible teams. The Dolphins coaching staff must be the most inexperienced staff in the NFL, and they have been TRYING to coach these players for years, at the NFL level. I don't think most of these guys should be coaching any team at this level. In my opinion what we as fans need to hope for the most is that Ross and/or Tannenbaum actually make the correct moves in free agency and bring in a NFL caliber coaching staff who can actually do something great with all these early round picks. I think most guys on this forum could do a better job drafting then the front office for the Dolphins has in decades. This organization really needs and deserves to find a head coach that will earn the right to be around for the next 10 plus years, with his coaching staff in tact, and be able to hit a home run with their draft picks this year. Go Dolphins!!

FTDOLFAN, how would you rank the top QB's coming out this year?
