  • Who Are You Rooting For ?

Here’s how the current draft order looks, heading into Sunday:
    1. Titans, 3-10, .471 strength of schedule
    2. Browns, 3-10, .512
    3. Chargers, 3-10, .521
    4. Ravens, 4-9, .482
    5. Cowboys, 4-9, .547*
    6. 49ers, 4-9, .547*
    7. Lions, 4-9, .571
    8. Dolphins, 5-8, .467
    9. Jaguars, 5-8, .471
    10. Saints 5-8, .538
    11. Bears 5-8, .541
    12. Buccaneers 6-8, .454
    13. Rams, 6-8, .530

Are you going to be rooting for the Dolphins to win this Sunday's game? Yeah I know, that's a strange question considering they are your favorite team. However, why are you rooting for them, other then they are your favorite team? Is it because you just want them to win? Is it because you just can't root against them? In reality, they have absolutely nothing to gain from winning because they are out of the playoff hunt. The only real reason to win any of their remaining games would be to improve their record, but that will also hurt their draft position and they might miss out on a talented player that could really help this team next season.

My opinion is that I want the Miami Dolphins to lose out. I do NOT want them to win another game. I am NOT on the hire Dan Campbell bus. He is way too inexperienced, right now, and I don't think he is qualified to be a head coach in the NFL right now and I think he should gain some experience in the college ranks next year and after a few years there maybe he can test the waters in the NFL. If the Dolphins start winning, even against there three POOR TEAMS, the 'Hire Dan Campbell" will start and I just don't want that to happen. He is NOT qualified! He's a great coach, just not head coaching material, yet, and he won't be next year either. In my opinion the best thing for this organization is for them to LOSE, so there is no reason to keep anyone on the current staff, so they can start fresh next season with a whole new coaching staff, and that coaching staff can have HIGH DRAFT PICKS in every round and hopefully they won't waste those picks like the previous regimes have done.

That's always the catch 22 on a bad season. I don't care if they win or lose. I want to see some players step up. I want to see some talent evaluation. I liked seeing the different offensive plays last week even though we lost. We didn't perform well enough but I liked seeing the attempt. I want to see Lippett and Ajayi more this week. I want Parker and Cameron to be far and away the main targets this week. What about Stoneburner? I want to see some consistent play calling. I want to see who the hell wants to play on this roster. If we do these things and move up in the draft as well, so much the better! But I'll take the win if that's the results. But I don't want the win because it was all Tannehill, Miller and Landry! Those are known quantities already. Stills? Stills??? Anyone seen Stills????

This is also what I would like to see. This year is done. What do we have to build on? Who do we need to jettison? What are their attitudes like? Enquiring minds want to know.

Funny DF, i just wrote this list down earlier this morning along with each teams remaining games and was thinking about posting pretty much the same thing (Thanks for saving me the trouble!)...Obviously it would be in our best interest to lose out and hope a few of the teams above us win another game or two..While i can't watch a Fins game & either root for them to lose or even feel good when things go shitty, it should be pretty difficult for them to win any of these last 3 games (West Coast trip playing the Chargers in what could be the home teams last game ever in SD, the game the following week against Indy who are fighting for their playoff lives and of course closing out against the Pats, 'nuff said there!) The HUGE problem is that par for the course the Fins will probably find a way to win at least one of these games & drop even further down the draftboard; they already screwed themselves by eeking out the win against the Ravens, had they lost that game they'd probably be sitting pretty looking at a top 3 or 4 pick...

IMO, even if we do lose the last 3 games there's not much of a chance of squeezing into the top 5 as the Titans, Browns & Chargers are pretty much a certainty to be there and the Ravens (who we beat) face KC, Pitt & Cincy in their final 3, Cowboys at 4 & 9 have the Jets, the Bills & the Skins..The 49ers have Cincy, Detroit and St. Louis & the Lions have the Saints, the 49ers & the Bears...

I think the best we can hope for is to maybe end up in the 6 or 7 spot..We win another game or two & we'll slide all the way down to the middle of the draft....

Great posts, guys! I also want to see the Dolphins get some other players involved so there is tape for the next coaches to evaluate. As mentioned above, we already know what Miller and Landry can do, it's time to get others involved so they too can be better evaluated. I heard there was a closed door meeting about Tannehill's future so I look to see him try to step up, I just hope he tries doing this by targeting more people, rather then throwing to Landry 20 times and everyone else 3-5 times. (Cameron, Parker, Stills, etc. need to get a lot of targets) I mentioned in another thread that I would like to see Miller get his 1,000 yards but I also want to see WAY more of Ajayi. The defensive side of the ball? Does it really matter. Most of the suck and there should be enough tape on everyone to know who deserves to come back and who they can let go. Jones, Suh and a couple other players are really the only players who showed they were actually trying out there on that field. They need all new linebackers and possibly even all new corners too. So many needs it's pathetic.

It certainly benefits this team to lose the last three games and that's exactly why I expect them to win. Now that they have zero pressure on them to perform and nothing to gain, this team will probably play the best football they have all season.. You heard it here first.
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

top ten pick doesn't matter when the people selecting the draft have no efin clue how to draft. While I do like some of the players selected this year, I want to see a few drafts before I get excited again.

Well, if things go our way we should have some fresh blood in the War Room come this April. So, hopefully the new front office will have better luck with their draft picks. It is discouraging that they have had decent draft POSITIONS and haven't hit any home runs with those picks, yet.

The Dolphins just elvated Logan Thomas to the 53 man squad, and extended him a 2 year deal, averaging around $875 per year, I believe. I'd play Tannehill against the Chargers, and sit him the last 2 games, to see what Thomas has. If he plays well (for a backup) perhaps the Fins can delay drafting a QB for a year. Other than the U of Memphis guy, 2017 will have a better overall selectio0n of QBs. Moore is done. Great teammate, but a bad skill set for today's offenses. Besides, he's a fumble waiting to happen.

Well, the Cowboys failed to help us out last night losing a game they easily could've won..(I've flip-flopped their position in the standings witht he Ravens and the Cowboys now sit at the 4 spot) The Cowboys are a perfect example of a team helping themselves by not winning a totally meaningless game (Though i guess one could argue that with a win they would've still been in the thick of the race for a division title)

They're now down to their 3rd string QB, probably won't win another game & will more than likely be picking either 3 or 4 in the 2016 draft...This, a team that before losing their starting QB for most of the year were pretty much a lock to make the playoffs and many had as a strong contender to make the SB..A team with a very strong nucleus AND getting the 3 or 4 pick overall; yet we're a complete dysfunctional mess basically rotten to the core and we can't even get the simple equation down of being who your record says you are and picking in the draft where you should be picking..While we're a team that should easily have a top 3 or 4 pick,, we'll once again end up picking between 10 - 13, and some will look at winning a couple more games as a good thing....

Well I won't be rooting against the Dolphins in these last 3 games but it won't bother me if we happen to lose all of them. I know its in our best interest to lose out and finish 5-11 which might secure a top 5 draft pick. I would like to see some improvement with our younger players like Parker Phillips Douglas if he happens to play McCain Lippett and I would even like to see Hazel play some with Matthews out and Jennings won't be back next year anyway.

Knowing how the Dolphins always seem to screw themselves we will probably beat the Chargers and Colts and finish 7-9 and be out of the top 10 in the draft.

The players I want the most in the draft in the first round next year are Jaylon Smith and Vernon Hargreaves. I think Smith would have a tremendous impact for our defense and Hargraeves will be a shutdown corner which would also have a big impact for our defense. I think those 2 players will be difference makers. I think we have to be in the top 5 in the draft to get either one of them.

Let's see. Tannehill vs. Rivers. Loss. Our sucky D? Loss. Will I hope for a Fins win yes! But do the Fins have any pride? No. We all know they are going to lose. It just sucks.

We kicked their asses across the board last season. Rivers is one of the most over rated mediocre QBs in the game. He averages 28 TDs and 14 INTs a season over his career as a starter. In 12 seasons, he's been to the playoffs 5 times and thrown almost as many picks as TDs - 9 to 11. They are a 3-10 team and much worse than us.

Unless we lay down or have another rash of injuries, we should win this one.

I hate to say I told you so! This team as quit! and Tannehill is at best a clip board QB. Time to move on!

That probably is the case the past couple seasons, but I was referring to Rivers career in total.

Well, that doesn't bode well for Tannehill because Rivers is hands down a far better quarterback then Tannehill is and more than likely far better then he will ever be. Rivers might not have the pointless numbers that Tannehill has but that's because he takes chances down the field. If Rivers played in a Dink and Dunk offense for four years in a row his numbers would be outstanding.
