  • Dolphins Front 7- A Closer Look

Here is a brief run down of our front 7 with snaps, pressures and ranks:

    DI ( DT, NT)

    Davis 37 of 126- 538 snaps, 14 pressures 1 sack, 1 hit, 12 hurries
    Seiler 44 of 126- 532 snaps, 25 pressures 4- 7- 14
    Wilkins 47 of 126- 637 snaps, 18 pressures 2- 1- 15

A good and potentially VG 3 man rotation for next year. An addition for depth would be good but not for much money.

    Edge

    AVG #12 of 108- 479 snaps, 19 pressures 6 sacks, 4 hits, 9 hurries
    KVN # 26 of 108- 811 snaps 31 pressures, 5- 4- 22
    Lawson # 28 - 571 snaps 39 pressures, 5- 15- 19
    Ogbah #48 - 792 snaps, 66 pressures, 10- 12 44

D brought a lot of pressure on multiple blitzes with guys coming from everywhere but, was not consistent with just 4. A true DE is needed.

    LB

Baker 868 snaps, 577 in the box with 240 on the line 17 pressures, 8 sacks, 3 hits, 6 hurries

KVN was in the box for 224 snaps as well but everyone was mostly on the line. We have no depth and could upgrade.

    Options for upgrade would be:

    Lawson (25)- 64 pressures, 6 sacks, 24 hits, 34 hurries

    Floyd (28)- 55 pressures, 11 sacks, 7 hits, 26 hurries.

Both can also stop the run and would be welcome additions. The cost projects to be $10-13 M a year. Lawson is younger, better vs run and more consistent. There are other VG pass rushers in FA but Ogbah is really the only true DE we have and will be a FA next year.

Parsons is another option. Many are now taking him in a trade down to #8 and I can see him moving Baker out and bening the main LB with KVN. Adding both would be special.
