  • Dolphins' Offense Missing Key Element

Interesting read and concept....definitely don't agree. Our O needs stability within the Guard positions...we drafted three WR in three consecutive years (Landry, Parker and Trading a pick for Stills)

So i dont think we need to draft one in early...late...sure..

Funny how they put two plays up that include a "FB". Landry also fills this role to an extent.

Interesting article but I totally disagree. I don't think the Dolphins need a "Super Back." I agree with playing each player to their strengths and the Patriots do this like no other. I also agree that other teams should copy what they are doing. Creating mismatches is the key to the Patriots offense. I don't understand why more teams don't do this, not just the Dolphins. If the Dolphins send Ajayi out wide that would create a mismatch. There are few linebackers if any that can cover him. There is no need to waste a draft pick on a gimmick play. You can find those type of players in the late rounds. JMO

I've had enough of gimmick hybrid bullshit,, You want change, bring in Henry and Coker and bring back up the gut football.. Smash mouth ground game... This will stretch the field for Coker to loft some accurate 40yds plus bombs to Parker...

This is one of the things I posted about in the Extenstion of the ZBS Failures. Using the RB as a passing target and using them to "chip" block on their way to be the target or check down. I've seen more of it under Campbell but not enough though.

Damn right the O is missing a key element, it's called an OL, I didn't even need to write an article explaining it, I see it every week....

I agree the offense is missing a key element but it's not a Super RB, it's a line to run behind.
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

If we don't resign Lamar Miller I would draft CJ Procise in the 4th round. I do believe however that the bigger problems with our offense are the o-line and the QB.

As has been mentioned already, we need an OL that can do its job! We have Landry, who has shown that he can do everything but play defense, so far. Once we get the line established, and some better plays called, we HAVE the "components"...

It's been plenty offensive this year

It's plenty offensive every year & we definitely take offense to it...too bad none of that puts points on the board....

I agree that we have talent already that be the super back/slash type player. While I think the article is a bit naive and we have more pressing needs, I again do not want to pass up premium talent either by reaching for a guy or trading down simply for more picks. Drafting for need has killed us over the past 2 decades and the reason we're talent starved in many positions to date. I like our last draft a lot. Just wished they had done more with the OL in FA or coaching scheme.

If we do what we did last draft - we'll be drafting BPA in each of our slots regardless of position with a weighed draft board.

I hope to ameliorate the OL in FA. Got to be 2 starting quality guards out there - or just better than Dallas and Turner. So tired of dealing this issue each and every damned season, and hope draft youth and talent at CB, LB, FS, and DE early on in the draft.

                      YMMV.

What if the Best Player Available is a QUARTERBACK ?

If BPA is the strategy and a QB is the highest ranked - and weighed - player on the board, you take him. That's what we did last year with both Parker and Phillips. Both have showcased their talent in limited action and look to be studs going forward.
