  • DeVante Parker expected to start practicing next week

Hopefully this is good news! Just like my feelings of concern in regards to Albert coming back too soon, i'm hoping DeVante makes sure he's 100% before going all out. I've gotta say though, i can't wait to see him out there - I have a feeling he could really light it up this year, sans any more loose screws of course!

The Dolphins activated wide receiver DeVante Parker from the physically unable to perform list a week ago, which meant the first-round pick became eligible to begin practicing with the team for the first time since offseason foot surgery.Parker hasn’t actually started practicing, though. While Parker dressed for Wednesday’s practice and has resumed running, rehab continued [more]

Great news. Like you I hope he's 100% but I'm not as concerned with him as I am Albert.

I think it is foolish to try and rush Albert back into the lineup. He is the KEY to the Dolphins season! Without Branden Albert I think the o-line falls apart, Tannehill's development is slowed down and the Dolphins season is completely different without him. That is why I think the Dolphins should take their time with him.

Parker is in a completely different situation. He is a first round draft pick so his position on the team is not in jeopardy. He should relax, take his time and only come back when he is 100% for at least a week. That is just my opinion. I think if he were feeling 100% this Sunday, I think he should wait an addition week prior to coming back to play in games. Unlike Albert, the team will be just fine without him, but with him the team "should" be much better. But, the reality of the situation is quite simple, Tannehill has issues developing chemistry with his receivers and Tannehill and Parker have had no time to develop any chemistry, so why would they rush Parker back into the lineup? Parker should relax, rehab that foot and when he is feeling great, start PRACTICING at full speed and developing chemistry with Tannehill for a while prior to trying to get into any game situations. I think Parker will be fine. We have depth at WR so he doesn't have to be on the field week one.

I'm not expecting a major contribution from Parker until after the bye but, do expect him to make some plays before then.

Agreed... and I have no problem following the Packers mode of stashing rookie WRs for a season given the strength and depth of our current WR corp.

Good news. We need this guy to open up the field a little, and give us that physical play. We get it from Reshard Mathews but Parker should take it to another level.

Yeah, unfortunately i think the foot surgery has really put him behind and i'd be surprised if he's able to contribute very much early in the season..I do think he's gonna be a stud though!

My daughter & her boyfriend live in Louisville and go to a lot of the Cardinals games, the boyfriend says we really got lucky DeVante dropped, says he's gonna be an absolute BEAST!!

I'm predicting Parker to be the best best receiver outta this group. Yes in front of Amari.

Couldn't agree more.I'm just a bit worried about the both the LT and guard positions. I always felt there was a lot of undue hype concerning Turner. Not sure why. Maybe it was his apparent toughness, which may be more appearance than fact, unfortunately. Some players just come off as more animated, aggressive. But there has to be talent and technique to back it up. Maybe Turner will; shape up. For the Dolphibns sake, he'd better.

I think you may be right as far as eye popping stats. But you can't discount what it does to a defense when they match up with Parker, Stills and Landry. Which one would you single cover, Parker because he is a rookie? No matter how you set your defense, you are picking your poison. If they double Parker and Stills Landry will eat the single alive and that's against a nickle defense. Opens lanes for Miller and company, slows down pass rush. Do you go dime? Our opponents will decide who gets the numbers, but I would advise them to take Parker seriously.

Fantastic news there... Can't wait to see what this kid can do ONCE he's fully healthy. He was turning a lot of heads in camp. Unmistakable talent.

Indeed. Parker suffers from social anxiety and is pretty awkward during interviews and while interacting with fans. Good thing his play on the field talks for him. IF that foot is 100% and he can stay healthy, we're going to have a very good offensive year. Looking forward to seeing Parker play for real.

I just want them to make sure he's 100%. The WR's we have now are good enough to get us through the first month without Parker.
