  • Is Ross the problem?

I think this guy is spot on and this is what concerns me most about the Dolphins.

I think Ross' biggest flaw in all this was being too much of a fan and too loyal to Philbin. He consulted with a number of people who all told him to dump Philbin and he ignored their advise due to a personal relationship with him. Tbaum had been telling him all along to hire Quinn during the offseason and he refused and hopefully finally learned to listen to actual ''football'' people.

We were expected to go 5-1 or 4-2 at the worst to open the season. Philbin's incompetence and lack of ability to motivate these guys led to his firing. Tbaum is the VPO and calling the shots from here on out. I won't be surprised if Dan Campbell is retained or replaced either way, but I fully expect Ross to bow out at this point and leave Tbaum to do the hiring and firing.

Would Tannenbaum actually be considered football people?

As much as King Carl, who advised him to hire Philbin. Ross has always listened to others - Parcells, Ireland, Aponte, Mangini, Philbin, Tannenbaum, etc... it's what did, or didn't do, that has hurt him. He should have listened to Ireland and hired Mike McCoy and stayed out of it. Instead he hired Mike McCarthy's spellchecker and restroom attendant as the HC, then gave him absolute power before hiring Tbaum back in Jan/Feb. Even then he didn't listen to Tbaums advise to fire Philbin and hire Dan Quinn.

At this point, hope he leaves it to Tbaum to run with - sink or swim. If Tbaum fails to improve us to a playoff team by the end of 2017 - raze it to the ground and start over - Front office, Coaches, QB, all of it.

REALLY? Ross bought into a 1-15 team that had been DECIMATED through OVER 20 years of H Wayne Huiziwega, H Wayne having just hired a guy who would be their 6th Head Coach (Wanny, Bates, Saban, Cameron, and Sparano) in 5 seasons, on the advice of the newly hired VP of football Bill Parcells.

Sure, Ross has made mistakes, but I can't agree that he is the problem without some SERIOUS evidence that he has interfered with the operations of the team...

Man, i remember you & i having some serious back & forth's about the Trashman killing our team! The biggest problem i have with Ross is the way he continues to handle the coming's & going's in the Front Office & Coaching Staff with half-measures; personally i think that's what has set this team back about 6-7 years...

Ross doesn't know the difference between a vulture and a Eagle Once he figures out the difference we will have a winning organization ..
