  • Suh feels we can have a #1 Defense

    Very nice read.
Ndamukong Suh believes the Dolphins have the potential to have the NFL's top-rated defense this season.
While it takes two to have an argument, it only takes one to walk away.

I know some people don't think fantasy football translates to "real football" but I will say this, the Miami Dolphins Defense has been slowly climbing up the draft boards this summer. The Dolphins Defense already had respect in the beginning of the summer and they were ranked anywhere from 10th - 12th on most fantasy ranking websites. Now most of these websites have them ranked in the Top 10, and some have them around #6 and I even saw them as high as #3, and that was CBS Sports. I think the lowest ranking they had was from NFL.com, which shouldn't surprise anyone.

I agree with Suh, I too believe this defense can be elite. They will need a little help from the offense though. The offense will have to keep their opponents on the field to give the Dolphins D the proper rest and if they can do that I think this is definitely a Top 5 defense. JMO

I don't know if we are going to have the #1 overall defense in the NFL because we have some concerns at LB and in the secondary. However if we can stay healthy I believe that we can have a top 10 defense. We should be very tough to run against which will in turn make our secondary better by putting opposing offenses in more predictable situations. I believe the real difference for the Dolphins will be our offense. I expect us to have a top 10 offense which will also help make our defense better.

I think we could have a top 5 D but the young guys need to step up especially in the secondary. Nice read.

I think #1 D line maybe but our back 7 other than Grimes and Jones really? Not being a pessimist but they need to prove it!
Just frolic and live in the now like Dolphins and Man's best friend.

How much pressure our offense puts on other teams by scoring touchdowns will play a big part in helping our defense. If we continue to kick field goals and let drives sputter out, other teams will be more likely and able to just pound on our D line and LBs knowing they can grind out a low scoring win. If we can force coaches to panic a little and feel obligated to open up their passing game, the more they'll be playing into our hands.

I think the D Line will cause turn-over opportunities. It's going to be up to the LB's and DB's to take advantage of them.

miami's season ranking depends on injuries.
if they get decimated by injuries they will be in trouble, for their 2nd stringers didn't impress.
last year, the d come out and performed well in the 1st half of the season and the latter part they couldn't get off the field.
they should be ranked in top ten ,but with injuries and backups can they maintain that defense all year up into the playoffs.

I agree injury does play a big part, but our db's give up catches to wide open recievers, I do not under stand why they play 10 yards back off the line of scrimmage in a zone coverage,,and not more man to man coverage, Coyle will be the one to blame for sure,,and rightly so!

I know everyone is high on Grimes, but he gets beat more than he wins, corner will be a clear issue this year, with our defensive front teams are going to be looking to chech the ball down more and short yard passes, which means db's can not play back off the line, if we do this there will be more coverage sacks.

Lets hope what we have on paper translates to the field!
