Cris Carter - Fall Guy

I'm curious to know what you guys think about Cris Carter's speech to the rookie class?

I really like Chris Carter but IMHO this was so wrong.

I also used to like Carter but man, this video made me lose so much respect for him. He can apologize all he wants, he was on stage with Sapp, who in my opinion is a RACIST and a tool, so now I am associating Carter with Sapp and think they might be like-minded people off camera. Maybe Carter just knows how to act like he isn't a tool when he is on camera, unlike Sapp ?

Good point bud. Sapp is a total jerk who tends to open mouth and insert foot on a regular basis and if Carter is like minded then my respect for him would also go down considerably.

Do you guys remember when the Incognito, J Martin thing was going on and Jeff Ireland told Martin to stand up for himself and confront Cogs? Cris Carter came on TV and said with all the guys packing heat in the NFL Ireland was basically creating a situation where somebody is going to end up getting shot. This guy has a screw loose. I thought he should have been removed for that comment back then.

I got no problems with the " have a fall guy statement". Carter did start by saying "if your going to decide not to do the right thing..." I take Carter's statements along the lines of make sure your "crew" is loyal.

I always say... There are 2 kinds of friend. There are friends and there are friends that will help you bury a body. It's reality. If you were in a bad situation, you would not call some friends?

I see a big difference in being a friend and being a fall guy. If my friend commits a crime I'll try and get him bailed out of jail but I'm not gonna step in and say I did it so that he goes free and I do the time.

I took his comments a little differently. After hearing him talk I was under the impression that Carter was basically telling them that WHEN they got into trouble, not if, that they needed to have a fall guy to take the wrap. So, he is basically telling a group of rookies that it's okay to break the law as long as one of their "crew" is dumb enough to take the blame. If my son were in that room I would be pissed off that an ex-football player and Hall Of Famer was giving my son and others such terrible advise. He should be teaching them how to AVOID committing CRIMES, not how to avoid jail when you commit CRIMES!

Also, Warren Sapp should NOT be allowed to talk to any of today's youth. The guy is an idiot and his opinion on all matters is the example of what not to do. Yes, the guy was a great player but as a human being, not a really good example in my opinion.
